Is there anywhere in the world where I can find a scale to try to keep my recent loss in check? I've been very good, but I do want to eat while at WDW, I'm just paranoid that I'll eat an ice cream bar and blow back up!LOL:rolleyes: Maybe in the fitness center?

Ironically, I usually lose weight while at WDW. And I eat good too! But, I'm not sitting around all day, I'm walking miles around the theme parks and resorts and I tend to eat better quality food than I do at home. I tend to notice my fanny pack fitting looser and looser as the vacation progresses.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure where you will find a scale.

I seem to fight a never ending Battle of the Bulge, but to be honest the last thing I want to do on vacation is worry about my weight. I always try to get 5 pounds or so below my goal weight before going on vacation and then not worry about it. I can indulge myself (that is the point of a vacation, after all :D ) and know I have a cushion to work with. I put on 8 pounds on my vacation? Great - I only have three to lose to get back to where I want to be.

But that's just me. I know my wife wishes at times she could lose weight like I do, but I think that's the metabolic differences between men and women.

I seem to remember a scale at the MK under the mainstreet train station. Don't know if it really works or is just decoration. Has anyone else seen this????

I don't know for sure, but I'd assume there's a scale somewhere in the health clubs.

I don't think there is a scale at the Vero health club. I don't know if that translates to BWV or other places.

If it were me I might be able to use one of those truck weighing stations, but i'm sure that wouldn't work for you....

You could always buy one then mail it back home when you leave, or even give it away as a gift to someone just arriving. That's what we did with beach chairs at Vero.

By the way, does WLV have a health club? Does any DVC resort have an indoor hot tub? I dow one on the DVC TV channel and can't place it's location. OKW maybe?

I know the fitness centers at OKW and VWL have scales, I would assume all the others do to. They are the doctors office type, you have to slide the weight on the balance beam. But relax, your on vacation. Just walk to epcot while ya suck down that jelly donut.

Capt Mid, VWL has probably one of if not the best fitness center on property. All topnotch gear, plenty of it and plenty of room. I've stayed at all DVC resort, don't know of any in-door spa.

I'm not sure what's in the video but there is an indoor whirlpool/spa at the DI Spa and possibly at the GF Spa as well.

I lost 35 pounds on WW in the past 9 months. When I was at WDW 2 weeks ago, I ate a small breakfast and then a larger late lunch/early dinner, ate whatever I wanted there. Then splurged for some ice cream at night. Some snacks along the way. I gained 3 pounds, but watched when I got home and they were gone in a week. Just enjoy yourself (within reason ;) ). Drink lots of water, the old WW basic. That was one of my mistakes, I ordered pop (soda) with my dinners. I rarely drink it at home and considered it a "treat".

Does anyone remember when there were scales in the bathrooms at OKW? We had one on our first stay in a 2BR at OKW in '94. I can't remember if there was one in the second bathroom, but there was one in the masterbath. I think by the time we went back the next year, the scales were gone along with the peach towels & some of the flower arrangements. :(

Not sure about OKW but there are scales in the Health Clubs at VWL and BWV. I usually dont want to see thedamage I am doing while on vacation :D

I am always battling my weight, but eat everything at WDW. I usually come back with about a 4 lb. gain, but have decided it's water retention from going to a humid climate from an arid one. The gain disappears within a week of getting back. You could always add a couple of days at Universal - HRH and PBH have scales in every bathroom! Which I ignore, of course. Diana

Your bodyweight can fluctuate greatly IMHO is do not worry about the scale. When you travel you can retain quite a bit of fluid and if you were to weigh yourself especially after eating sodium You may be in for quite a shock. It is not fat but fluid.Bodyfat % is a much better gauge of weight loss. Just don't overdo the eating.Drink plenty of water! To lose fluid you need to drink fluid. If you insist on weighing yourself, wait for a few days after returning home.Relax and enjoy your stay.:)

Thanks everyone for the input. Your tips are much appreciated. Since I'll be at WLV for two weeks I'll just stop in the fitness center and weigh myself about half-way through the trip. I do plan on drinking plenty of water, not drinking carbonated beverages and making most of my larger meals during lunch. I can live with a 3 pound gain, knowing I can get that off in a week back home.

Debbie B--did you weigh in while you were in Florida?? I am on WW, too, and the weight is coming off so slowly, that I absolutely have to weigh in down there!! My vacation is for nearly 3 weeks at the end of June, and I gain weight simply by breathing when I'm down there (can't you just smell those donuts, the bread, the pizza--at over 4 points each?!). If you know of an actual WW center down there, please pass on the info. A scale in the fitness center helps somewhat, but a weigh in with a digital scale would be some much better! Thanks!

I am another one of those weight losers at WDW! We eat VERY well while we are there, but I still usually lose about 5-8 pounds because of all the excersise we get!

No I didn't, I just paid the $5 missed meeting fee the next week. I'm not sure if my pre-paid coupons would even be good there (they list certain area #'s where they are valid). I would try to watch but don't obsess over it, enjoy your vacation and deal with it when you get back. If you don't go overboard it can't be that much. I gained 3 but I think some of it was water retention because I lost it the next week without really trying that hard.

Another thread mentioned that the maximum weight for the 2-person mouse boats is 340 pounds . . . so . . . they must have either a scale or a carnival weight-guesser . . . just kidding . . . enjoy yourself!

Scales are in health clubs as noted. We did 6 days at Yacht Concierge and 4 days on the Wonder and I only gained three pounds in those ten plus 4 days of Florida vacation pre and post Disney. We bought BCV- just sent the check overnight yesterday.- new to DVC. One of my best new weight loss tips is that Minute Maid has a new 10 cal/12 oz light lemonade- sold in 12 packs at Publix markets there. It is a Wonderful taste alternative if you are feeling deprived with just plain water. I had lost 25 lbs for dd wedding which was 5/25 - 10 days after our vacation so I had a real motivation. Salads are great in the world.
One of our favorites was from Frontierland- Pecos. It had a non-oily lime vinegarette. Good luck and have a great time. Susan
