Just wondering where SBP brides spent the night before and after their wedding. Boardwalk Inn sounds like the most obvious option given it's location but I'd be interested to see where else people stayed and how you got to/from SBP etc.

Thanks!

Glad you've asked this as I was wondering myself, I was thinking about Boardwalk Villa but I just don't like the rooms at all so that's really putting me off.
I love the look of Contemporary but not sure I want to pay around $1000 for 2 nights for a room I won't use much so now I'm thinking about staying at AKL, anyone stayed there? what time did you leave for the ceremony?

We are going to stay in a 1 bedroom villa at BWV the days leading up to the wedding, then move to the Polynesian after the wedding for the rest of the week.

Port Orleans French Quarter for us - very pretty for photos on the morning of the wedding before leaving in the car :goodvibes

We used DVC points and stayed in 2 rooms at BWV - I didn't like the look of the rooms until i actually stayed in them - it's now one of my favorite DVC resorts! My hubby stayed in out Studio and I got a 2 bdrm for myself and the girls for the night before so we'd have lots of room to get ready in. It was great, and so easy to just walk downstairs and be right there....great also for things like "clothing emergencies" - my hubby's shoes started to hurt his feet so he simply ran to the room during brunch at the Attic, and changed into his crocs (which looked hilarious with his tux...they were bright orange).

We got married in the yacht club gazebo and stayed in a 1 bedroom villa at the boardwalk we loved it - honestly photos do not do the decor justice. I would recommend getting a villa if your getting ready with bridesmaids etc. We would not have had enough room in a normal hotel room and I would have got stressed out with so many people in such a confined space.

We are staying in The Wilderness Lodge Resort...mainly because growing up when we went on our family vacations to WDW we stayed in an RV at Fort Wilderness...so it's really a sentimental thing and it's like 'home'. :hippie:

We plan to just have the limo take us over for the ceremony and then just use our chartered transportation for the wedding to get us to all the wedding day events and back to our hotel. We love any of the resorts that are on Bay Lake as it just makes getting to Magic Kingdom really easy and enjoyable! But, that's just how 'we' like it :) You have to do whatever makes you comfortable that you know you would have transportation to and from without too much hassle.

We chose for our guests the Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness Cabins and POR - we thought the idea of having their resort options 'close' to each other would help if anyone wanted to meet up! (some of our guests are taking their cars to WDW) :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for your help everyone! I have to admit for some reason I didn't think the Boardwalk rooms were very impressive but I don't really have any good reason for that (maybe feedback I've read on the boards somewhere?) so it's great to hear how nice they are.. and the convenience is a big plus for SBP. We're aiming to stay for 9 nights in total (it will be our first WDW trip) so perhaps we will split that into 3 night chunks and experience 3 different resorts since I can't decide!

I love the look of AKL too! You might find this thread helpful, it's not wedding specific feedback but does have a lot of information; http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1633854

Very good point about the convenience of the Boardwalk.. knowing me I'll forget something on the day. That's so cute about your DHs shoes! Bet they looked great in the photos.

I really love the look of Wilderness Lodge too! And I hear it has some of the best Christmas decorations (which will hopefully be up in November). Decisions, decisions!

as we have mainly adults coming with us and are getting married at SBP so it makes sence for all of us to stay at epcot resorts as there is a good nightlife. Staying at a 1br villa so there is more room to get ready and also to have people round for snacks and mini parties during the week. not sure myself and husband will have any time to ourselves!!!

We're HOPEFULLY going to be staying at the Boardwalk Villas. My grandparents are graciously offering up about 3 years worth of DVC points to my wedding, so we want to stay at the Boardwalk before the wedding and Bay Lake after. We can't book until 7 months out though because their home resort is Vero Beach, so I'm a bit nervous!
