SB - I wish they'd invent...

i always thought it would be really cool to make an album just like those fun (and sometimes annoying) children's books that make a noise when you press a button. Disney actually makes a bunch of them. my cousins had a lion king one where simba sang "i just can't wait to be king".

anyway, i'm making a SB for my DS (6 mos) for our upcoming disney cruise and just was wishing that they'd invent a way that i could put a button on the side and mickey or the captain would say something to him. because he won't remember the trip i want him to get the most out of it as possible in the future.

does anyone have any ideas as to how to make this SB more interactive than just pictures. and while i'm at it...what does everyone wish they'd invent for scrapbookers?

I've seen greeting cards that play music when you open them. Inside the card is a tiny device powered by a button cell battery. I don't know where you could get one, maybe a large craft store would have a small music or sound box you could use.

The sound "strip" is removable from the album, so that is all you would need to take into the park. (20 seconds per button -- and there are 12 buttons.) This is the description from F4202 which is a REGULAR PHOTO ALBUM (not scrapbook).

Oh ...and if it's not DISNEY enough for you...... you could always cover the album in some DISNEY fabric or something! (Save the plaid or floral papers for another album.)

That's exact;y what I was going to suggest. I got this album for my sister a few weeks ago because she has two little ones. I thought it would be a great way to capture them now to listen to later. (The older one is two and is saying the cutest things.)

I love the idea of taking the removable record panel with you to Disney and getting characters (at least those that are allowed to speak) to record a message for you. I'd never thought of that before.

Wow... Exactly what i envisioned. Thank you!! I'll definately have to spruce up the cover like you suggested to make it more "Disney", but the other stuff they include looks nice too for another SB. This seems like it would be a big hit in stores (at the right price of course). I wonder why the big SB companies don't pick up on it. But maybe they already have and i'm in the dark? ah well... now i just have to decide on 12 "magical" sounds for the cruise Thanks.

There is an item out there called the "Memory Button" which allows you to record sound onto it for use in scrapbooks.

OMG!!! that is awesome. The memory button is cool but I think kind of pricey--$29.50 for two.

The album, imho, is a much better deal. I'm gonna have to get one of those to do a scrapbook of my darling grandson.

hi again! i just got the sound of memories SB in the mail today. it is really nice! I couldn't be more happy with my order. so if anyone is thinking of getting one...i'd say don't wait! i think you can also order it from www.kandcompany.com the site has better pictures of the book than QVC, although i'm not sure about the price.

I'll definately have to catch the ship's horn. thanks for the idea. any other cruise/disney sounds i shouldn't miss??

I've been looking for something like this also. I'm working on our June 2002 Disney trip album and thought it would be cool to have a way to play some of the music from the parades on the pages with the parade pics. I was going to try to find the recordable Hallmark cards and then record the music from my Music in the Streets CD. It sounds like the Memory Button is just what I need. It is a little pricey though. Also, would it be too thick to put on an album page?
