Just curious, was this unit from MA?
They would have had to been processed through MA Milford Headquarters....and DH would have seen them.
This is an all too familiar picture around here. DH says about 1/2 the people he works with are gone...and the armory he used to be at is all gone.

A week ago Saturday - DD and I attended the deployment ceremony for our local reserve unit that was heading out to full time active service. Many friends were among the troops and certainly among the family members. It was a very emotional day. Lots of hugs, tears, and yes... a few speeches. Everytime I watched family members hugging their serviceman or woman... I would get all choked up.

Hugs bon bon. It must be very tough to let him go.
