I had my SIL and BIL over for dinner tonight and we were chatting. I mentioned that I wanted a trip to DLP in January (they know I am a Disney fan) and had been pricing things up. My SIL then turned to her partner and said, 'I wonder if your brother could get any deals.' It turns out that he works for Disney, only they hadn't thought to mention it before. I nearly choked. Apparently he works in the finance dept in London :confused3 - he's not in a parade or anything ;) but they think he gets free passes to 'that Disney land place in France' every few months.

I will try to get more info from him over the coming weeks...

Oh wow, that would be great, I hope you get some tickets and a good deal Juliette ::yes::

When DW worked in the Disney Store (admittedly about 8 years ago) they got free 3 or 4 day passes (can't remember which) every year!!
Would definitely be worth your while pursuing this new contact :lmao:

:goodvibes

I am getting excited...
I'm plotting but DH is getting nervous. Not sure that a pass would be much good though as the accommodation includes passes and you don't get much of a discount for room only...
My glass is always half empty.:rotfl:

Ah, but if you had free tickets you could stay in one of the off-site hotels and save lots of €€€!!

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Keep that glass half-full! :)

I thought the offsite hotels looked more expensive than onsite with the 40% off offer.:confused3 DH says he's been twice and wouldn't be bothered about going again. Sometimes I don't understand him:rotfl:

You could always try and bribe DH with a stay in Paris itself rather than package it as a DLP trip - then just jump on the train for a visit or 2 to the parks. Only takes about 30 mins iirc to get there and trains were frequent the time I did that.

Have you checked Expedia? That's where I book my offsite trips to DLP.

Any recommendations for offsite hotels? Not even considered them before.

DH wouldn't be interested in Paris, or I would try that ruse.:rotfl:

Well, out of the four nearest ones the Dream Castle is the nicest but I'd be happy to stay in any of them.

Because of the size of our family (five) we've always stayed at the Explorers and have always found it very clean and comfortable and the pool is fun.

I've got a suite reserved there for two nights for my birthday next year with an unbelievable discount of 55% with full cancellation terms :thumbsup2 (it was less than half the price of the standard cabin rooms) although I'll cancel this nearer the time if I can get a 40% discount in a Disney hotel, purely to be closer to the parks for such a short trip.

There's a sticky on the DLP board with links for booking the off-site hotels ~ never book them through Disney as they deliberately keep the off-site prices high to encourage you to book one of their hotels.

I've only stayed at Magic Circus, which is a 4* hotel. It has a pool, a hot buffet breakfast and the views over the countryside from many of the rooms are very pleasant. In terms of distance, all four of the associated hotels share a shuttle bus to the parks. The journey takes around five minutes. :thumbsup2

Just got an update:
Relative has only recently started to work for Disney.
Thinks he can get 2 x 1 day passes for DLP.
Thinks he can get 35% off at Disney Store.:goodvibes
