I've heard from some inside intel that the Flag Retreat may be scaled back if not eliminated all together. Apparently the Entertanment Dept feels it's too elaborate for some odd reason. I should have gotten a you-tube vid of the newer ceremony. :guilty: (caught it 2yrs ago,,,very good)
Soooo,if anybody knows the powers that be please let them know how you feel one way or the other. I prefer it the way it is now. :thumbsup2

I hope they don't scale it back and more importantly eliminate it. As a military member I think it's great that they take the time to do this ceremony on a daily basis. I make a point of attending the ceremony on all of my trips.
Ernie (CM that leads the ceremony) is a great. :thumbsup2

This is such a moving ceremony. My family and I made sure we saw it just yesterday, the last day of our trip. We all commented on how touching and inspirational it is. I, too, hope it stays as is.

We missed it on our last trip, but only because we were in the wrong place at 4:00 every day. I truly hope they don't change it. I'll need to make an absolute point of getting there at the right time next time we're there.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I 'think' Ernie will be very upset if they do change it. My understanding is he was with the USMC for over 20yrs and takes this ceremony VERY seriously. Can't blame him.
