I haven't seen this posted, and I just read about it. All Ears is reporting that the Garden Grill (The Land) will cease serving lunch on October 6. This is very disappointing. My family loves to eat at The Land, and our choice is lunch. Say it ain't so! Say it ain't so!

Are they stopping lunch altogether, or just not having characters at lunch anymore? I've read what appear to be conflicting things on the allears site about this. For example, check this out http://allears.net/aa/anita.htm. It seems to imply just the character meal is ending, not lunch altogether.

We had an ADR for Xmas week and were called a few months ago by Disney that Garden Grill no longer had lunch. They had us switch our lunch ADR - and we did to the Coral Reef. Again - this was a few months ago so not sure if they are changing more of it or decided to bring back lunch without Characters, etc. but at the time we were called it was NO MORE LUNCH.

Good question. The newsletter just states they will stop serving lunch. They state: "Garden Grill Lunch - The Land: Beginning October 6, 2008, Epcot's Garden Grill will no longer serve lunch. The Garden Grill will continue to serve dinner." I hope it is just the character's.

Did that many people really like this place? We went last month & both agreed it was our worst meal of the trip. I had made the ADR thinking would really like it. He loves Chip & Dale. When they came around, he said he would talk to them when he got finished eating.

That's really a shame. We have always had a good food there. We love the atmosphere and the family style dining. The characters were an added bonus, but we didn't go there for a character meal. We always ate there for lunch, not dinner. We found it to be a great place for a relaxing and fun lunch break.

That makes me sad. I've always wanted to try this place, and I just never had the chance. Yeah, I guess I could still go for dinner, but if I go to one of those full-service restaurants, it's always for lunch. Oh well.

Garden Grill will stop serving lunch altogether.

As of January 5, Liberty Tree Tavern will stop being a character dinner, but they will still be serving dinner. These two get mixed up sometimes.

I know, I felt the same way when they stopped taking breakfast reservations there too. ( a few years back )

This is a great resturant and the food is always good....hate to see if fading away.
