Say it ain't so! Tropical depression!

JUst going to be alot of rain about 3 or 4 inches..Disney will be open most likely. Dont worry just bring rain clothes.

Disney sounds like it could use some rain. We arrive on the 13th and I would rather brave the rain, then have the parks close b/c of smoke from nearby forest fires.

We are leaving around noon today and planned on arriving in Orlando by noon Monday. I am driving from NC with my DS7 and his friend who is 6. We are just staying one night, Monday, at POFQ. We are supposed to swim in the pool monday, and have dinner at RC that night, then go on the carriage ride at 9 pm. Tuesday morning we have ADR's at the poly for the character breakfast, then we're supposed to spend the day at Disney Quest before we head to S. Florida to see my dad. I guess it will be a washout. BOOHOO for us!! We were going to spend 6 days at the parks, but my son didn't want to, "Do we have to?" he asked??? Dear God, life must be bad when you're tired of Disney at the old age of 7!!! :rotfl: Actually, I'm glad to spend more time with my dad. He had a cancer scare this winter and I really would rather be with him for our trip. Anyhow, just wanted to share with a few thousand people that may feel my pain. :guilty: I'm off to pack!

Just checked the weather channel ...they say it's supposed to cross FL very quickly w/no more than 50 mph winds, in the area they call the bend (even extended path doesn't appear to cross Orlando area).

Good luck to all, stay safe.

Don't worry about it yet...keep an eye on the hurricane center, though. According to the public advisory they don't have up the results from sending the plane to investigate it yet. I know the 3 day forecast looks like it's cutting right across Florida. If it gets upgraded to TS they will call it Alfredo.

For us hurricane season travelers:

Usually they seem to move through pretty quickly, but I was in WDW for Frances and she was slow as molasses, the parks were closed two days for her. If they need to close the parks they will close them right before the storm is scheduled to hit, the storms are tracked very closely and they will know when that is. They'll open the parks back up as soon as possible.

Thanks for the site, I'll be checking on this also, I have friends that are departing from Disney next week on Tuesday flying back to Jersey.
thanks again,

My wife and I are from Gulfport, MS. We to are arriving at Disney on the 17th of June thru the 25th of June. I think that for the most part this depression should be moved past by then. Although I can handle the rain I am hoping that it will be pretty much rain free while we are there. Although I know we all know about the wonderful summer scattered thunderstorms midday though.

Hope your trip is a great one!

Where are you staying? It'd be great to see some fellow Mississippian's by the pool! We will be at POFQ!!!! I'm going to try to get some green mickey heads before we go! :cool1:

Local weather is saying winds of 25-30 with 100% chance of rain, storms, etc. We will be going to EPCOT anyhow, whats a little rain? =o)
