That is a record for me! I seldom go see movies. Also watched Bend it like Beckham. That was good!

But of the 2 new ones, I like DaVinci Code the best. X-Men was good, but I didn't like the ending. I can't say anything else w/o giving it away. There was a lot about it that was good, and a lot that made me mad.

The DaVinci Code was pretty true to the book, and the acting was good. Tom Hanks didn't bother me at all in the role of Langdon, and I didn't think his hair was all that bad. :teeth: I feel like it has gotten a bad rap, but it was really worth going to see. I LOVED seeing Paris and London on the big screen!

I was SO DISAPPOINTED with DaVinci code. The move seemed entirely soulless to me..... but I am hoping XMen will be good!

Did you watch X-Men until the end, after the credits were done? Not many people know this but you have to wait until all of the credits are done, then there is still a 30 second final ending to X-Men, which I thought was an important ending to the movie. Felt bad for those who left when they thought the movie was done.

Hmmm, Interesting Xmen thing. I dont think I saw the extra ending then. I think once the credits started rolling, I was out the door. So the chess scene isnt the end?

I saw divince code this weekend as well. Loved it. True to the book and very good. I thought Hanks was a big mistake until I saw the movie. He wasnt distracting at all and I thought he played a good Robert Langdon. I heard Dan Brown just sold angels and demons so hopefully we will get to see Hanks as Langdon again!

My son saw Over the hedge with grandma and loved it. My MIL loved it as well. She said theres a nice amount of adult humor that the kids wouldnt understand. She said she laughed more than my son. Hopefully I will take him to see it again this week so I can see it.

Movies are cheap here, $3 for the matinee so we see just about everything that comes our way especially anything kid friendly.

the chess scene was not the last part of the movie. Do you want to know what happened after the credits ended?

I also saw the da vinci code and loved it! My Dh said he enjoyed the book more and was disappointed that they had cut out so many scene's.

Lucky you! Down here it's anywhere from 10 to 12 dollars a ticket.

I love the Da Vinci code!
And cannot wait to see Angels and Demons.

Saw Davinci code today. I think I would have been better off seeing it without having read the book.

While it was pretty true to the book, I was also disappointed by the things they left out and by some of the things that they changed, especially in the church at Rosslyn at the end and with the cryptex. I think I liked the book better as well.

I agree!

They didn't mentioned Shopie's brother, but the end was pretty neat, Shopie's face.

We went to see the Da Vinci Code last weekend and really enjoyed it. I felt that it was very true to the book.

I do, will you pm it to me. I hate to ruin the end for others but I would love to know what i missed!

I know the DaVinci Code wasn't exactly like the book, but I am so used to seeing movies adapted from books that I understand why they edit some of it. Yes I was not happy about her brother, but I understood why they did it that way. It was still a very entertaining movie.
Besides, any movie with Jean Reno is a good movie!

I thought the DaVinci code was much better than I anticipated. Once again, the critics were way too harsh. I ended up liking Tom Hanks in the role which surprised me. I thought it was very true to the book and that they did a good job editing out to keep the movie under 3 hrs. We are going to see XMen later today and we were warned to stay until after the credits.

I saw DaVinci Code this afternoon and enjoyed it. I have been so busy reading other books that I never got around to reading this one. So Im looking forward to reading it now.

My kids both saw X-Men & liked it. My dd is bummed that she missed the ending after the credits, but said she plans on seeing it again, so will watch the end at that time. My ds also saw the DaVinci Code & really enjoyed that one, too. He also had the same opinion that it followed the book pretty closely except for a couple of parts.
