Saw Home on the Range...

How could you not see the Fantasia reference in that yodeling seen. That was the only classic part of Disney I saw in the whole movie.

I personally did not care for this movie at all. Yeah it had cute parts but so do many of the 30min cartoons on tv from day to day, and this was basically two episodes back to back. Disney can do better than this and has. I agree we need to stand on our own feet but if this is to show how we can do it without Pixar and so forth, well I'm pretty scared for our movie line future.

Oh and the sexual indigo was a NO NO in my book. How could we even go there and more than once. The matrix junk need to go as well. Disney doesn't or shouldn't have to follow the incrowd to be loved.

It was a cute movie. It was nice to see Disney getting back into a more traditional mode with a villain, and good triumphing over evil scenario.

It was ALSO great to hear Alan Menken songs! I wish they'd do less of the narrative songs, and more monologue songs! (ie - I want the CHARACTERS to sing...)

The only thing I didn't like was the cracked out, acid-trippy yodeling scene!!!!! It was INCREDIBLY odd, and seemed very out of place.

Overall, a B+

DH, DD3, and I saw it opening weekend and we thought it was horrible. So bad, in fact, that the 3 y.o. asked to leave about 3/4 through the movie and we happily obliged!
