I have cable and internet service through Comcast. I was paying some ridiculous amount for the two – over $150. So, I called today to see what I could do to lower my bill. I mentioned that I wanted to add home phone service (tried being cell only – failed) and that AT&T had sent me a very nice offer. Well, apparently Comcast is running a special for current customers. You can get home phone (unlimited nationwide calling), cable and internet for $129 – with no 6 or 12 month limit. It’s called the Xfinity Triple Play. So, I’m adding a home phone with free long-distance and my bill is actually going to go down! Yeah, me!:thumbsup2

If you are a Comcast customer and you are paying more than this, just call and ask about "bundling" deals for current customers. If you are not a Comcast customer, the triple play is $99 for 12 months.

Do you know what level of cable and internet you get? I have Digital Starter cable and Performance internet and am interested in this plan.

That is my question too. And also what level of calling you get.

Here Time Warner has triple play for $99, but you get the lowest levels of all of them, no DVR service, etc....

Add unlimited long distance, an extra $15. Add in DVR, $17 each!!!! Add higher speed internet (the one we use), $15 more.

So that triple play ends up being $160 plus taxes of about another $20.

I was just looking at my bills a few minutes ago wondering how I can lower the payments. I am paying about 69.00 for standard cable with Comcast but my Internet and phone is with Fairpoint which comes out to be about 61.00: the total being about 130.00.

i have the highest teir of the triple play(highest internet speed) two boxes one being a dvr phone and cable (we have hbo showtime and a few other pay ones) for 203 a month with taxes (now it would be cheaper for you because we are spending 15 a month for a extra dvr box) hth..... now if they coming out with a dvr that can tape more then 2 things at a time that would be great

Wow! That's a great deal!

I was looking at what we're paying right now:

Att home phone = $20.00
Comcast internet = $59.99
Directv = $142.00

total = $221.99

:confused:

Also, if you are a current customer, you can play the 'I want to cancel card'. I called a few months ago to take off our HBO and it lowered my bill by only $10. I mentioned I was pricing around and the rep basically implied unless I am canceling that was all he could do. I finally called yesterday and said, "I want to cancel the cable". They immediately sent me to a customer loyalty rep. She lowered my bill to another plan about $30 less for 12 months.

I have had triple play for a couple of years. My bill in total with fees is $141.46.
That includes hd service with 2 hd receivers, one standard receiver, dvr service and one phone. The channels I get are many, but it doesn't include any premium channels like HBO, Showtime, etc.

The phone service is great. My internet is really fast.

It's not as good of a deal as the $99/month deal they used to lure me in, but I think it's worth it.

I have a triple play package and recently called to see why my price had gone up. I was charged an extra $20 a month because my 12 month package had expired. After telling them I was unhappy..yadda.. yadda. I got my old package back at $109 a month. :banana: It will still end up costing me $170 ish when you add in the taxes, fees, 3 cable boxes, DVR. You have to be careful about all the extras, but it definitely pays to call.

This thread has inspired me to research this and talk to my husband about it. We already have Comcast and have no plans to change but our phone bill is more than it should be. Maybe this will work out to be a better deal for us.

It's so funny that I saw this thread because we were JUST dealing with this issue last week. My DBF was paying the Comcast bill (we have TV and internet, with one HD receiver and one standard def. receiver, and the HBO package) and noticed the price had jumped from $150 a month to $180 a month! :scared1: We called Comcast and basically all they could tell us was "Well, you've been with us for a year so your introductory pricing expired. The only thing we can do is add a phone line for only $14 more a month!" :headache: I, being a big time couponer, am not very happy at all with that answer. $180 a month for cable and internet with NO DVR or anything--that's ridiculous! Our apartment is wooded though and only allows Comcast or AT&T for TV/Internet, so we don't have much choice!
