Saving Money/Upgrading with Current Promotion

i booked awhile ago for Oct 6 to Oct 10, with I believe a promotion that was get an extra day/night ... had no idea that better options would come available ... booked online via either the UK or US site (actually from Canada)

current promotion on the UK site is 30% off which would save me ~ 400 euros or allow me to upgrade from Hotel Cheyenne to Hotel New York for roughly the same amount of money

if I call would it be likely that

a) i could re-book under the new promotion and save ~ 400 euros (which I can than spend in the park)

b) i could upgrade to Hotel New York with the new promotion, applying what I paid for the original booking to the new total

i'm more familiar with dealing with WDW, so just trying to save money or get a better hotel but wanted to make sure that it was worth actually phoning Paris from Canada

yes its worth the call, if you booked originally using a UK offer, and you want to change to the new UK offer. You may need to be persistent though (ie it might take more than one phone call).
