This is kinda long and I hope it makes sense because I really want to verify I am doing the most cost effective thing..
*******
Pete and Kevin were discussing ticket prices on this weeks podcast and made the statement that they dont know anyone who buys one day tickets anymore. Well this year that will be DH and me. They also suggested buying hard ticket event tickets to cover one of your park days so I pulled out the calculator and think it will be a great plan for our circumstances.
The back-story DH and I are going to the parks for only 2 days in October after our 4 day Wonder cruise. We wanted to do 3 parks in 2 days and were trying to price out the best way to do it but thought $100 each for Park hoppers over 2 days was crazy so one of us was having to give up a park
DH doesnt want to buy longer non expire tickets because we know we wont be at th parks next year based on our 7 day Western Cruise (already booked) and a new job with limited vacation days. We are staying off-site at a hotel we have stayed at several times because we were able to cash in some of our points for two free nights
. It is right outside the gates of Downtown Disney
We both want to visit MK, DH wants MGM and I want Epcot and so far as I said one of hasn't caved in to giving up their park.
So now on to the plan based on the podcast suggestion
Buying 2 Single day admission tickets with PH (park hoppers) for each of us will cost us $500.00 or I can buy 2 single admission ticket no PH and 2 MNSSHP tickets for $412.00 (one set for each of us) at a savings of $88.00 over just buying park hoppers. with no party. We have to pay parking for two days at $12.00 and we have Chef Mickeys at 5:00 pm same night as MNSSHP at a cost of $30 per person =$60.00 plus tip so it will be $75.00 making those two items $99.pp.
So if I have done the math correctly for $11.00 more than just 2 days of park hoppers we can cover 3 parks, including MNSSHP, parking and Chef Mickeys. Did I get this right?
Our plans would be on Thursday disembark ship, drive to hotel and do early check-in (we can do this even at 8:00 am since we are gold members) and then drive to TTC to park. Take Monorial to Epcot for first part of the day then take Monorail to Contemporary for Chef Mickeys at 5:00 pm after dinner walk to MK for MNSSHP then return to TTC from MK to drive to hotel.
On Friday, drive to MGM for park day then go to Downtown that evening for our traditional last night dinner, shopping and ice cream before heading back to hotel to pack up car for a 4:30 am departure to drive back to VA (we do it in one day).
Three parks, MNSSHP, Chef Mickeys and downtown all in 2 days after a 4 days cruise.. Please tell me I got the math right because this sounds like a plan I could love
Thanks for comments..
