Hey.....I've been able to find some cute clip art but can't save it (or open) in Photoshop Elements 6 because I can only open .jpg. The clip art I'm finding is .bmp or .gif. Does anyone have any suggestions??? Also have anyone purchased a clip art cd or do you all just hunt the web for your art??

Can you open from your clipboard??? I just right click the image and copy it then "open from clipboard" and then I do whatever needs to be done to personalize it. After that I save it in jpeg myself.

I know the answer to this. It frustrated me so much when I was learning but I finally figured it out.

You open your gif or bmp or whatever type of file in PSE but it won't let you put it on your new file right?

What you have to do is: with the gif or bmp showing go to your "Image" menu at the top. Select "Mode" and then check "RGB color" and it will change the image type so that you can put it in the file.

Let me know how it works. Hope that's all that's needed.

ETA: Sorry lisabell, hadn't seen your answer when I posted. Hopefully between the two of us we can help!

Hey guys....sorry for the delay! I got frustrated and quit using the non-jpg ones but I'm giving it another shot. I'm going to try opening from the clipboard. I tried "open as" and picking jpg but it gives me a message about not having the correct information or something. I'll have to try it again and write down what it says so I can post it. I can't even open the image to try Kari's suggestion...:confused3

THANK YOU guys for helping! And sorry again it took so long to quit being stubborn and giving it another try.

I am new to the photoshop, but I found that if I copied something onto my clipboard (just right clicked and copied) then went to PSE and went to "file" then "New" then clicked on "image from clipboard" I was able to open just about anything.

I also found that if I was trying to cut something out and add it to another clipart, I had to play around with which one I dragged. Sometimes I would grab one and a white background would go around the item. So then I tried switching it up and grabbing the other pic. Did that make any sense :confused3 If only I knew how to read directions :lmao: I could make this so much easier, but no, I insist upon learning by doing ;)

I absolutely love your designs. I had the same problem with saving them so I printed the Life is Good ones onto light transfer paper directly from photobucket. Guess what I realized after. Yup, they aren't flipped!

Gonna try it this way and see if it works since I had several of your designs I wanted for shirts!
