Saving change!

We use a milk jug with a little hole cut in the side... To prevent dipping, I have that thing taped up so much it would take me 10 minutes to get into the thing...

We save $1.00 bills and change.

I have a liquid laundry detergent jug that the change goes into, and a drawer for the bills. The goal for the bills is to fund our Food and Wine samplings, and the change is a nice boost to the savings.

Our savings totals right now are roughly $350 on the change, and $450 on the bills. DH loves to count it though, and I'd rather just keep chunking it into the depositories until the trip gets close.

We are saving change, and refund money etc. for our December trip! Today, I told my husband I just pulled $2.43 out of my change purse for WDW! Then I said that is almost 1 bottle of water! His reply was not quite enough for a beer thought is it!

We started saving change about two weeks ago when we decided to go to Disney. In only two weeks with just extra change from purchases we had over $40. We took that and
expense checks from work and opened a passbook savings account. By getting a passbook savings I can not get a mac
card with that and I can not do online transfers which will
help me not dip into it. Plus the added bonus of a little extra
interest earned on the money. Not much, but every little bit
helps when you are on a mission to Disney. I still have 16 months to save !!!

I have also started going to the Disney store every Friday after work to purchase $5 or $10 Disney dollars. This money we will
use as spending money.

I am soooo proud of my DS's (12 & 10) they have saved their chore money, birthday money and change they find and now have $160 each for their own spending money.
