Save The Date

Ok a few questions, I don't have my planning packet with me, I know Disney sends out Save The Dates along with hotel info, after the contracts are signed. Do you know when these are sent? Did you guys also send your own Save The dates? Thanks.

Disney's STD are sent out around the 8 month mark when you sign your contract (unless you are having an in park wedding reception, like at the Living Seas or American Adventure, then you can sign your contract at the year mark). We didn't send seperate STD as we decided on Disney close to the 8 month mark and spread any other info that our guests needed through word of mouth.

They will send you a file to fill out with guest names and addresses. I believe you should be getting that soon. They wanted to send mine out within two weeks of when we signed the contracts, I don't know if that is the norm or not. We actually opted not to have them send the STD's, and sent them ourselves about 10 months before the wedding. They gave us the hotel/ticket info and we mailed them with a newsletter that we sent out about 7 months before.

disney sends your guests save the dates at the 8 month contract mark.

we're did something similiar to jennycee, we mailed our own save the dates with rose printed magnet save the date attached in april 05 for our march 21st 2006 cwedding. we are paying for our guests rooms & a 1 day ticket so we arent sending disney save the dates for that reason. but we are including the themepark ticket info & room ressie info & phone #'s in our newsletter for any guest who wants to extend their trip.

We signed our contract one yr in advance (was not a in park wedding), and they sent the save the dates about a month later. I didint mind them sending them so earlier b/c we wanted to give our guests a big notice for travel reasons. They will have you send them all of the names and addresses of your guests. I did mine in Microsoft Word, but they eventually put it into Excel.

We sent out a newsletter to our guests a month prior to Diseny sending out the Save The Dates. We didnt send actual Save The Dates.
