Save $$ on tickets through Disney's YES program!

I'm looking into this option for our next trip, if they do not get the minimum needed for our class and it's cancled, are we still able to use the tickets?
I read that if the class is cancelled they will reschedule you for another one on another day. I don't know what happens if they don't have another class in the time period you are there. There is a thread on here about it but I haven't found it yet. When I do I will post it here.

This was post #1283 on the other thread:

The receipt says the class may be canceled if less than 10 children register for the class. Has anyone had experience with this? If the class gets canceled, can we still get the YES discounted tickets? TIA!

They would try to find a new class that fit your schedule. Even if they couldn't, you would still get to use the tickets.

How does this work if you book a package or room only reservation? Can you somehow add the dining plan (paid - not free dining)? Also, if I'm already booked for a package can I sign up my kids for this and get the discount on my existing tickets or somehow cancel those and use the discounted YES tickets instead?

That is only when you purchase for 10 or more people. I believe you can use the tickets from the 13th to the 23rd BUT it is MANDATORY that you attend the class to get the discounted tickets. I am guessing if you don't attend they will charge you the full amount for the tickets later. You may want to call Disney to be sure.

When purchasing the tickets they ask for your vacation dates. When you receive your tickets they state the dates they are valid. My vacation dates were August 1-17th. So my tickets state "valid 07/25/11 through 08/24/11". These were purchased for myself and 2 daughters so we are not apart of any group. My YES program is scheduled for August 8th. :cool1:

Is there a way to get tickets for all members of your family? We are a family of 3. I see that only one parent can attend the class, and it would only let me order tickets for 2 people, not 3. If you have an odd number is there a way to add the 2nd parent under this program?

They seemed to have changed the rules. The thread on the budget board has all the info but people are reporting that it is now One adult ticket per child participating in the class.

I wanted to know- I see that this only goes up to October right now- do they release these class hours when they release park hours? I am going in December but if they are not going to have classes at that time I will change to the September because I would save (including all of my expenses) about $800! But if they are going to have these in December as well then I will just wait and schedule one that's on one of our days! Or are they going to have any in November? I would even love that time!

The thread on the budget board states they will not have Nov. and Dec. classes. I just purchase Sept. tickets and it saved us $650

They said that they meant not up yet, I meant will it be posted at a later time, but I guess not- that's fine I will keep it in mind for next time!

I'd like to know the answer to this also. We have a package booked for Sept. Room, tickets and dining with no discounts. If we want to do the YES program what is the best way?

Normally you can't combine special tickets like yes or convention tickets with a package so no dining plan. Of course you can use these tickets with a room only RES but the tix will be on a separate piece of paper not on the KTTW card. If someone in your family has an AP you can purchase a ticketless package for DDP which would work nicely and even get you a resort discount.

I just stumbled across this thread and know it's a few months old. Do you know if you could purchase these tix for the discount price and not attend the function you signed up for? Not wanting to get flamed....just asking :goodvibes

It is my understanding that if you don't show up for the class, that they will charge your card the difference, meaning you will pay full (normal) price for the tickets.

Thanks! That exactly what I needed. Guess if we get em we will go to the program. They look good anyway. :)

No, you cannot and it will get you banned from future participation.

If you cannot make the class, don't sign up. Since these classes tend to fill up quickly this will prohibit others from being able to attend.
