Save Disney

Aloha, all!:wave2:

I'm not the OP mentioned here....but i DID post about savedisney.com on the DVC and DCL boards about 2 weeks ago because those who cruise or are members of DVC make a really substantial financial investment in DISNEY and I felt they were entitled to have this info sent their way....
Both my posts WERE deleted:(

But I did receive PMs from moderators saying this type of post was more appropriate for this board...I thought this was very curteous!:earsgirl:

However, since the posts were not simply moved here for me, I wondered if maybe the 'hidden' message was that these DIS boards do need to keep an open dialogue and good working relationship with the current DISNEY COMPANY people to get the latest news and best deals for all of us here on the DIS site :earsboy:

I've been a supporter of Pete and this site since its earliest days. He and his staff have done a terrific job ! I have to respect that but will continue to work to help ROY take back the company and BRING BACK THE MAGIC! :wizard:

Yes, I ahve been told this can't be discussed on the DVC board either. I highly disagree with it not being revelant to DVC. I think the future of WDW heavily impacts the sucess of DVC. They go hand in hand in my opinion. (Hey wasn't that a WDW slogan once? LOL) If they parks continue to go downhill I don't think our perosnal investemnt is going to be worth much.

But I have yet to see any actual details on how the SaveDainey site plans to actually make these changes. It seems that the best way would be for majority stockholders to oust Eisner, but there are no signs of that happening. In fact Roy, several months ago, sold off MILLIONS of dollars worth of Disney stock, rather than keeping and voting those shares. The next generation of the Disney family is showing no interest in the company at all.

He did not simply sell of his shares. It was a variable prepaid forward sale. What it means is Roy has locked in a minimum price, and he gets that money now to do with as he pleases.

Roy maintains the voting rights of the shares for five years, he gets the dividends for the next five years. Certainly long enough for this scenario to play out. If at the end of the five years the stock is riding high, he gets to renegotiate the price and get even more money. If the stock goes down, Roy's locked in his price at $22 something, I don't remember the actual number

But the main point is Roy keeps the voting rights.

What would happen to the DISboard if Disney fell apart as is happening with present management (Disney) in charge?

I know I wouldn't have any interest in Disney anymore.

Just a point - I haven't said we can't discuss this site, or mention it, nor have I removed any threads. I'm just not able to support a rally to sign petitions, begin letter writing campaigns, or anything of that nature. These are Pete's rules, and we all agreed to follow them when we signed up for the boards.

The original post had no purpose other than soliciting signatures from DIS members. I removed the link from the original post, but let the information about an existing petition remain.

Yes, Disney is going through a seies of changes at the moment and most of us here on the R&N board are hoping that the good guys win (especially as a number of us are DVC members).

Please understand that Luis and I are pretty liberal about allowing discussions of almost anything Disney, especially as it pertains to Disney's future, but we have to enforce the rules.

Aloha !

Thanks, Sarangel...for clarifying, for allowing the discussion to continue, and for all of the hard work you Moderators do!

Hey Gang ......

Don't be DIS...appointed ;)

Let's BRING BACK THE MAGIC !::yes::

I DO....truely.....really and truely.....understand your position.......BUT.....based on Your "position"....I would like to ask you to PLEASE....talk to PETE....about this......If "disney" goes away...so does "Pete" and his web site!!!!.....and least "Pete"....."Think" he...."benefits" from his current...."relationship" with "Disney" as it currently is.....please ask him how he thinks that relationship will be should he "back the wrong horse"???.....and "neturality" could be viewed as negativilty towards the horse that might come out on top!!!

The "easy" choices are always clear.....but the RIGHT ones....aren't! ;)

Well, Chuck....Hopemax is right......and I'd suggest that you just sit tight for a bit ...... your vision may infact become reality! :)

Thanks Sarangel. :)

Goofyposter, I can understnad Pete's position. It is a shame thsi site can't be more vocal, but I understnad. And as much as it upsets me, unfortunately there are Disney fnans who actually are against Roy! My Mom's neighbor who is also a DVc owner like me, is very aggaint Roy! It surprised my Mom and myself when she told me! Threw me for a loop, I just assumed everyone woudl feel the same way. I quickly discovered in addition to this site that this is actually a pretty controversal subject.

It just seems so clear to me the need for Roy's tactics and agenda. I truely believ in him. Did everyoen get the savedisney email today? It is a quote and made me go WOW... It really sums up why I am so in favor of his site -

“When I started on Disneyland, my wife used to say, 'But why do you want to build an amusement park? They're so dirty.' I told her that was just the point- mine wouldn't be.” - - Walt Disney

If Walt saw the parks today I'd imagine he collapse and just start crying... I DO NOT WANT TO SEE WDW TURN INTO MY LOCAL SIX FLAGS.

I had a link under my name that said -
please support savedisney.com
and it was deleted. :(

I can pretty much guess who it was cause I have one particular moderator that likes to pick on me. I really only frequent one board often and it wasn't this one. Same board the savedisney posts continue to get deleted on. I can only guess what their stance is!

EDIT - I just went over to savedisney.com's site. I had sent them an email a couple weeks back that they should have a clipart with a link to their site for us to use. Well, they now have one! But, from the looks of it if I had it it will be deleted off. :( :(

Sarangel, maybe you might know...
savedisney.com has a link to these boards on it's site. I was given rule #8 for not being allowed to post a link. If savedisney.com has a link to these boards, couldn't I have a link back to them in my signature?

Thsi is just amazing to me...

Ummm, do you really think being critical of board mods is the way to go? There was a thread that explained why the posts were closed, moved or deleted.

Ummm, do you really think being critical of board mods is the way to go? There was a thread that explained why the posts were closed, moved or deleted.

This was a link, not a post I was referring to. And I didn't mention any names, as it is I think Sarangel has been very nice about this on this thread. I'm just curious as to why we can't post a link to them when they're posting a link to this site? It is true, I do feel a particular moderator other than Sarangel is against me supporting savdisney.com.

I am amazed at the general attitude I am feeling for supporting savedisney.com from these boards. Truly, when I decided to support Roy's agenda, I had no clue it would be considered so controversial. I simply want to see the company and the parks back to at least a former shell of itself. I worry about my DVC personal investment. By buying in I have basically locked my family into Disney vacations every year and I would like the parks to stay somewhat up to the standards WDW is so known for, or at least used to be. Isn't that why we bought? When I took my parents the last two trips they kept commenting on how dirty everything looked and so many things that badly needed repair. It was embarrassing to me because they know I spent a good amount of money to join DVC. We are a Disney family. My parents took me to WDW almost every year as a child. I want to see Disney succeed, not fail. I am also a stock owner too, but it goes much more personal than that.

I apologize if I came across negative to these boards, I love participating, but I admit I did get upset regarding the savedisney.com link. I will not however, apologize for feeling savedisney.com's agenda is the right thing to support.

I'm not getting involved in this deletion argument, but save disney.com sure has my support as does Roy Disney. :)

I support Roy Disney 100%:bounce:

I can't believe Michael Eisner fired Roy after Roy helped him get the job at Disney.

Michael Eisner is killing this company!!:headache:

Every true Disney fan needs to get behind Roy and let's SAVE Disney!

Keep the Magic alive!!

:earsboy:
I have designed and made a few t-shirts that i have been selling and distributing around Disneyland here in california, the Annual pass holders really like them , in fact i got 7 e-mails from Disneyland cast members that saw them on visitors and asked how to get one!
This was just a start ,but i will be posting a website showing my efforts and the shirts soon, incase anyone else is interested.

Remember we can ALL do our share to help Roy and Gold out no matter how big or small.

Go Roy, go Stan, go go go all the supporters of saving Disney!

So many ex- Disney cm's I have talked to on my 22nd day of my trip to Orlando. All wish the company had a better agenda, surpriseingly quite a few work at SeaWorld I noticed recently. And some very creative and talented ones are over at Universal. Sadly the few positive ones actually at WDW are mostly senior citizens or students from South America or Africa.

Quantity is quality, and the supporter are growing daily as I have been passing the word to as many other theme park employees, navigators or whatever their classification that they can be a small but important part of actually creating the future instead of hopelessly being a bystander.

My visit is not over yet to Orlando.....still more important things to do while here. And every day I mention when i can down here about the movement to be a part of the resistance` pirate:

One last reminder - you *CANNOT* use this forum to solicit signatures for any cause, however worthy. I have had to remove several posts to this thread by posters who were unaware of this rule, or chose to ignore it.

Kindly keep this in mind for future posts.
