Savannah Preference???

Does anyone staying at AKL frequently recommend one of the savannah veiws over another and what floor of room. I'm going to check my Un. Guide too, I think he mentions something in there too. First time I'm staying there with my e-mail deal the first week-end in October and thought I'd mention a preference on my reservation if one seems nicer. Just thought I'd check!!!

We had a lovely stay there at the end of June in room 5221. The view was spectacular. We were on the Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail. Our balcony was close to Arusha Rock. While we were there, we took the Wayamma Safari that takes you right onto the different savannahs. I was really glad we were on the Arusha Savannah after seeing all the others because the view was the most natural looking. There were no barns, fences, or people pens to be seen. I would also recommend Arusha Savannah on Zebra Trail. The reason being is that Zebra trail is sooo convenient to the pool, restaurants, bar, counter service, kid's club, laundry, and playground. One view of Zebra trail is Arusha Savannah and the other is pool view which is why it is an easy walk to the amenities I mentioned. Zebra Trail does have a nice animal view since Arusha is the largest of the savannah areas.

However make sure you walk around to all the different animal viewing areas as there are some different animals on each savannah.

....with an addition. We were on the first small hall off Zebra Trail. We looked at the Uzima Savanna. It was awesome. The giraffes practically stayed by our balcony 24/7. Very natural looking area. The location was so convenient there!

We walked all over both trips and checked out all the different viewing areas. So many great spots to watch and photograph the animals. The only location that I would have been very disappointed to have would have been the Sunset Savanna, the part close to the lobby area. We viewed it out the Sunset Overlook and we were very turned off by the fencing, lots of vehicle movement and lots of birds, vultures, ostrich etc. Just wasn't for us - just our opinion of course!!!

We stayed on Uzima Savannah very close to the elevator down to Mara and the pool. It was very convenient. Yep, I saw a fence, birds and a pen, but I also saw Giraffes and Kudos playing, Bongos. Tommies and other amazing creatures right under our balcony. So, fence? What fence? Didn't bother us at all. It was awesome. This savannah does not have zebras though but still great.

Thanks everyone, I'll put in a request for either the Arusha or Uzima Savannahs on Zebra Trail. I think my sister's friend that we are going with likes giraffes. I'm going to check and then maybe put in just for Uzima, since that seems to be where the giraffes are.
