I just received an e-mail saying it was from the Savannah/Chatham County police depts. Basically, the just of it is this: if you see someone driving at night with their lights off, DO NOT flash your lights, beep your horn or make any other attempt to get their attention. This is a gang initiation. They are supposed to chase the car that flashes at them, at shoot at it / in it in order to be accepted into the gang.
This rumor was going around a few years ago as well, but I checked some of the e-mail addresses that were on this one that my sister forwarded to me, and it looks very real. Please tell your loved ones.

and ask if they're the folks sending this email. I don't think that's their usual method of telling folks about things like this. Usually you'd see a news story on TV or in the newspaper or on the radio.

Oh thank goodness!!! We did have something like this actually happen years ago, when a man by the name of Ricky Jivens had a gang here locally, but he has been in prison since the 80's. I was just worried that maybe someone was being a copycat. Thanks for the link. I'll forward it to my sister so she doesn't worry.
