Both rooms pretty nice. Didn't mind the new designer at all. Doug seems to be mellowing out.

Did anyone recognize that girl Kim from another Trading Spaces episode?

I thought it was ok. I still like Doug and his designs. I am not so sure about the new lady. Her design was very "80's" to me. I was not crazy about it but glad the homeowners like it.

I really want to see Vern. I just love his designs. I think Frank has been taking the easy way out lately. His designs are a little stale.

I definately think Doug is mellowing out! :Pinkbounc he didn't go out of his way to make the room obnoxious. Not super crazy about the "blocked" look on the walls, but much better than most of his stuff.

Nope, didn't recognize Kim.

Both rooms seemed ok to me. I caught both episodes (though I actually saw the first one second).

Is it me, or are people seeming to "expect" more out of the designers??

I think Doug is letting his "bad boy" image slide a little. I think alot of it was an "act" and he probably got tired of playing the role and getting trashed for it.

To me Kia's room (new designer) looked like something I could have done myself! I thought Doug's room was pretty good.

Jenn Lynn, I totally agree with you. Kia's room did not have a professional designer feel to it, IMHO. I hardly ever see the designers on the show using wallborder or vertical blinds:eek: .
I am glad that the sister talked Kia into using fabric for the windows.

I LOVED Dougs room with the squares. The squares were my favorite part of the whole room. I'm glad to see Doug soften a little, he can be such a jerk.

I absolutely hated Kia's room. Every designer takes down wallpaper and she puts it up. It was hideous. My husband said he would kill someone if they painted his basement purple and green and removed his couch for a bench.

I liked Doug's room also. The squares on the wall were cool.
The women that he was working with was driving me nuts with the bad placement issue! I'm glad he didn't give in to her.

The purple basement was hideous!

Who was Kim and on which other episode did she appear?

I didn't recognize Kim either.

I could live with the purple and green paint, but a wallpaper border and vertical blinds from a professional designer??!! I'd be so disappointed. I hope her next one is better.

I think the word "designer" is used very lightly on Trading Spaces. Frank apparently owned a flower and craft store when he was discovered.

Was Kim on that show long ago when they put a swing up in a purple bedroom? Frank was the designer then too? Can't quite remember.
