When booking airfare, if you have a Saturday night stay would you be able to find cheaper airfare? I've seen mention of this a few times.

I am currently looking/pricing airfare for a Saturday to Saturday, or Saturday to Friday.
If I change my plans to say departure on Friday, and returning on a Saturday or Friday would that help?

I can go play on the airlines websites, but wanted to ask you pros as well.

I'm not an expert...but, I have heard it mentioned that if you stay over one Saturday night, that the fares are usually cheaper.

With that being said...either one of your scenarios works out with a Saturday stay. If you arrive on Saturday and depart on Saturday, you are still staying over that one Saturday night (your arrival night).

If you arrive on Friday and return on Saturday, you are also staying over one Saturday night (your 2nd night after your Friday arrival).

The only way you would be in trouble would be if you arrive on Sunday and depart on Friday or Saturday....then, you wouldn't be staying over a Saturday NIGHT.

I don't know if this is still the case for all airlines. For example, Southwest prices their round trips as basically 2 one-way trips. I don't think the price goes up or down if you don't stay over a Saturday.

Other airlines may or may not still do this....but, either way....Friday or Saturday arrival should be safe.
