Saturday..in the park (Magic Kingdom)

OK, I know this has been discussed to death, but what is the consensus: Saturday at the Magic Kingdom (as the Unoffical Guide suggest for summer) or not? I mean June 18-24 especially. If not Saturday, which day? It just seems like Saturday should be very busy. Should we chance it? DW is really planning this out sooooo: MK on Sat or no? Whaddya think?

While I plan on doing MK on Saturdays during the summer, many will tell you they stay away. There will be crowds, but I find it a little less crowded than weekdays during the summer.
Recently, lentesta from UG posted that Tuesdays are the least busy day and Saturday is the second slowest day for the MK

I have twice in mid-August, in late Oct, late Nov, early Dec....have never seen MK on a Sat that was less crowded than a week-day!! Even my dd, now 11, doesn't ask to go into MK after lunchtime on a Sat!! We sometimes go early and then leave before lunch but like to visit MK mid-week or on a Sunday.

We're going in May and planning MK for our first day -- a Saturday. AKL has EMH that morning, so I'm hoping that will draw some of the crowds away. Cross your fingers for me!

Been a number times during that time you are going in June. Actual rule: MK is heavily packed everyday and you won't be able to tell Sat from most of the others. Sunday is usually its lightest day of the week but that is relative -- it simply means the lines will be 60 minutes instead of 70 for the popular rides most of the day after the first couple of hours. If you are choosing days for parks, generally just accept that MK will be a bear everyday so don't even try to find its "light" day. Epcot and AK have their lightest days of the week on Sat and Sun (again it is relative, still quite crowded)

Thank you SO much for this info!! UG had Mondays as a good day for MK, but I keep reading Tuesdays are less crowded. Plus AK/MGM have EMH's that day so that might help crowds at MK too.

As Drusba noted above, finding a "light" day at the MK is relative. Our plan is to arrive early and take a big break in the heart of the day. The reason I was stressing over going MK on Saturday is that we'll actually be staying at an Epcot resort that day which will make it a little more difficult to get to the MK. But if Saturday had been significantly less crowded, I would have scheduled it then. BUT now...since we'll be in the Epcot area, we'll do Epcot and save MK for Tuesday when we'll be at the WL. Thank you, thank you all for your input!

Other than the logistics of the MK, I'm really not stressing about our itinerary (but I've done oodles or research!)...we're going in mid June: planning on heat and crowds and just going with the flow and enjoying ourselves.

By the way, OP is DH so I'm the planning DW he referred to! Thanks to everyone again!
