Saturday in Spring Break questions

Less than 2 weeks to go for us now. We are DAP holders and still wondering whether to pay the extra and go into DLR for that first day.

As our flight is so long (arrive Friday evening) we know we are only going to be able to manage until mid afternoon on the Saturday before we will need to go back to the hotel CCI for a rest but we will be up really early on the Saturday morning due to time differences.

Now the dilemma - we know the cost of getting into the parks on top of our AP's as it's a block out day but as we only have 5 days this time, every day is precious. It's just that I know from the DIS poll that the previous week seems to be loads busier than our week (and therefore those folks will still be there) and I know Saturdays can be really busy - is that still the case first thing in the morning? In July last year, we went in on a Sunday morning first thing and it was really quiet until lunchtime (which would be great) - it would be bad if we were only spending about 6 hours in the park that day, hardly being able to ride anything and paying $150 for the 3 of us.

As we will be up early, what time do the ticket desks open if the park opens at 8am? (I assume we will have to go there to pay the extra $50 each) Would I be able to line up here whilst the rest lines up at the turnstiles or will we all need to be present to upgrade our ticket for the day?

If it's a hot day, we will be happy to spend a lot of time around the pool on the Staurday instead, shop at Garden Walk etc (extra travelling is out for the day after a full days travelling the day before) - thought of watching a movie but there's nothing that we really want to see at the moment. If the weather isnt that great, I thought that any rain would keep the crowds down in the parks.

Your thoughts would be great.

We went March 13-16 this year (a Sunday through Wednesday) and it was way busier than we've seen it before. Bad considering that we've been there on weekends over Memorial Day, 4th of July, Halloween time and Christmas time! Mornings are still your best bet, but I don' t know if I'd pay for a whole extra day just to take advantage of the morning.

Thanks

Anyone know if the ticket window to upgrade opens way before the turnstiles and also if we all need to be there to pay the upgrade fee or can I go by myself whilst the others line up at the turnstiles
