I have provisionally booked Inventions for 6.30 pm on Halloween weekend but I am thinking of cancelling for two reasons - the cost and the fact it will take us out of the park for a fair bit of time - I know our children will want to see 'all' the characters parading around so it won't be a quick buffet! (Saturday is a our only full day - unfortunately, as I know how busy it is going to be! :scared1:).

So, I'm after some help with where else we could eat. There is myself, DH and two DDs (9 & 6). I was thinking of another buffet (cheaper) - either Plaza or Agrabah (we want to eat in the park, not the Village or hotels). But when I've looked, I am worried Agrabah will be cold and Plaza is variable - and can be off when it's very busy. A really big bugbear of DH's is tepid buffet food! :rolleyes1 I think it's location is always going to make a busy place to eat when the park is busy!

Thinking Colonel Haithis (but we will do pizzas at Cafe Mickey the night before so fancy something different). We love Fuente but I am thinking I'd like to sit in somewhere, hopefully for a short period (subject to getting served). Or Hakuna Matata - if open?

As the park is likely to be rammed are we better to go for a reservation type restaurant or take a chance on somewhere else and queue. I've never been in the Lucky Nugget - can you reserve here - presuming not.

I really can't decide, but I don't want to be in a restaurant for hours, or stuck in a CS queue for hours either . We've invariably done TS restaurants before so this is all new to us! I've looked at stickies above but most are quite out of date now. Help please :).

Buffets can be a risk on very busy times - how about the Silver Spur instead? Its not as expensive as Walts or Blue Lagoon, its table service so you know your food should be hot when it arrives at your table, and you can reserve a table in advance.

Thanks Elaine :thumbsup2. I hadn't considered Silver Spur - will have a look at the menu after this.

Is the Lucky Nugget a no go then? I know it's sort of CS/TS but the food looks OK and quite reasonable. Issue will be that you can't book of course, so the queue could be huge!

The Lucky Nugget ordering bit is typical counter service - half a dozen people in front of you and it still takes ages to get to the front and order yourself. Theres very little room inside as well at the ordering bit, and although its good food and good value once you are seated, its not fun queueing to order.

It sounds a bit like the Cowboy Cookout was when it was a character meal - took ages to get served but great once you were! I don't know what it is about DLRP and their CS type servers - why does it take SO long! :confused3

I want the girls to have a nap in the afternoon so they can stay up late (hopefully until park close at 10 pm), so I think we'll hit eating right at the 'busy time' somewhere between 6.30 and 7.00 I would think :scared1:.

Will check out Silver Spur later on as off to do some work now :rolleyes1!

Can you maybe have a late lunch and eat your main meal later, or have the main meal earlier, say around 5ish meaning you can enjoy the park later?

It is hard to sort, but I imagine the park will be very busy that night, so would probably book something if you want a proper meal.

Thanks for the replies! :goodvibes

The park closes at 10 pm.

I really haven't decided how to play breakfast. Was thinking of a late breakfast towards the end of EMH but as it's in the Studios both days that scuppers that plan as I guess we'll have to head over to the park for opening. If we did have late breakfast then I don't think we'd need 'lunch' as such as there's snacks in the GF lounge from about 4 pm I think? I know it's just pastries etc but that would be fine.

I think I'll have to wait until the schedule comes out. Half of me wants to just grab a CS but I know that because it will be so busy, it won't be a quick one - TS would probably be just as timely! If we did do late snacks at SQL we could eat about 8.30-9 pm I guess. Or maybe try 6 pm. I think the girls will need a nap on the Saturday afternoon if they are going to last until 10 pm, esp DD2 as she's only 6.

I have looked at Silver Spur and it doesn't appeal at all tbh, but thanks for the suggestion Elaine!
