Satuli with Picky Eaters

Can someone tell me about the bowls for kids at Satuli Canteen? My kids are a little picky so the cheeseburger bao buns are not going to work (they don't like ketchup or mustard). The bowls for kids are things they would eat except for the bed of rice and beans. They would love the rice, 2 of them would not like the beans. Is it all mixed together or is it possible to just get plain rice in the bowl. Also, is there a bit of spice to the beans? The 3rd will like it if its flavorful but not if there's any spice to it. We've avoided it so far because of the lack of kids options for picky eaters but I would really like to try it this trip.

I don’t remember it being spicy at all, just very flavorful. We were able to customize my DDs bowl—they make them to order. My uber-picky DD is starting to branch out a bit, and she loved her bowl (but not the buns also because of the mustard). Hope you enjoy!!

Just confirming, the beans are separate from the rice?

The best I remember, but I can’t swear to it. It’s been a while. Maybe change the title to that specific question and see if that helps you get an answer.

Also believe it or not, last year my DD—who is now 18–suddenly decided she likes mustard on her soft pretzels! She keeps trying new things, so hopefully she’ll keep expanding her palate! Yours too!

They have a cheese quesadilla and a hot dog wrapped in bread. We have a couple of picky eaters in our family and we only tried this restaurant once. One of the picky eaters did like the cheeseburger pod, so there is that. I liked my bowl, but I honestly don't understand the hype, and we haven't tried it again.

I really liked my bowl there. It was definitely one of my favorite QS. It seems like it’s pretty customizable though

Different. It is wrapped in something similar to a crescent roll

My kids don’t like corn dogs but my son might eat this.

I'm almost positive that the rice and beans were mixed together, not separate. There's also a noodle base if they would like that? I ordered the hot dog thing once and I found it pretty blah. My son who loves hot dogs would never eat it because it doesn't look like a normal hot dog! Lol!

A noodle base would be perfect. I can’t see where to find the bases and sauces on Disney’s website so I’m using TP and they might be a little out of date.

They had the noodle base when we were there last year but I know they e changed the bases a few times so I can’t be positive that they still have it! It was really yummy though! My DH loves it and we had to go there twice for him!

It is a regular hot dog, wrapped in bread....if they dont like the bread they can take it off and the hot dog inside is just plain and normal.
