Satuli canteen?

The food is so good, I ate there twice. I think I was excited to have healthy options that were not just a salad. I had the tofu bowl. A tip...the bowls are huge. I ate the kids meal and it was plenty.

We enjoyed the chicken with onion chimichuri over potatoes and the beef with black bean dressing over salad. We actually ate the same thing twice during our last trip.

For us, the pods were more of a novelty item. We all tried them, but even the kids preferred the bowls.

Anyone know if you can sample the dressings somehow? I have no clue what a chimichurri is supposed to taste time, or black bean dressing, or what "herbs" the herb dressing is made of.

I don’t have the answer to this, but th creamy dressing kind of tastes like ranch. It’s not too intense.

Satu'li is definitely our favorite QS at Disney now. I've heard mixed reviews on the pods; we've always had the bowls and really enjoyed them. I usually get chicken, but the beef bowl is also good. My wife had fish last time and said that was good too.

I wish Disney would have a similar QS like this at another park...just retheme it somehow (Star Wars land?).

We have not tried the pods. We usually get the beef and the chicken bowl. They are very good and filling. My wife did get the shrimp and noodle bowl once, and it also was good.

We ate at Satuli Canteen twice last week. First time DH had the combo bowl (beef and chicken) with rice and beans and chimichuri sauce. I had the cheeseburger pods. We were both very happy. I put mustard on the cheeseburger pods and I loved them this way. There is also ketchup, relish, and mayo available. I had a Skywalker Sangria and DH had a Pandora sunrise. Both were great.

We made a special trip back to that area just to eat there again. This time I had the grilled chicken on the potato hash with the ranch type of sauce, and DH had the fish on the beans and rice with the vinaigrette. I had Skywalker Sangria and he had the Blond ale. All of it was good. We liked the fish and beef, but the winner was the grilled chicken. DH prefers the rice and beans, and I LOVED the potato hash. We tried the blue dessert and it was surprisingly good. I would get the cheeseburger pods again too.

Next trip I want to try the hot dog. It looked really good.

Chimichurri is basically made of parsley, garlic, olive oil, oregano, and some type of vinegar. Its quite good. As for the creamy herb dressing, yes its more like a ranch....even milder than a ranch if its possible. Its very good! I normally love chimichurri sauce, but i have never tried the one at Satuli Canteen. I've only tried the creamy herb and its excellent.

Really enjoyed the chicken bowl but wasn't a fan of the cheeseburger pod. They had an okay flavor but were very dry.

Had the tofu bowl on 2 separate visits. The last visit it was overly dry and will not order again.

I have read posts where people have asked for the dressings on the side so they can taste before pouring it over. But I'm not sure if they will let you get multiple on the side.

The black bean one was definitely more like a basic vinegary salad dressing to me. No visible beans. I've only had it over the salad.

The chimichurri was delicious over the potato hash. Different than chimichurri I would make at home, but very good.

However... it looks like the more recent menus online say "Green Onion Vinaigrette" instead of "Charred Onion Chimichurri". I'm not sure if they just changed the name or if it's actually a different sauce.

Not a fan of Talapia either. I was checking out the menu on WDWinfo and they list it as Mahi and it was supposed to be updated 8/18. Wonder if they are wrong, it was changed, or they ran out of Mahi that day. I do like Mahi but not Talapia so that would definitely make a difference

I did hear that the hot dog is pretty darn tasty. I love a good hot dog, so I might have to try this one for myself. :)

The hot dog is the only thing I like at Satuli. If the beef was cooked more fully, I might get a bowl, but most of the bowl ingredients are things I am not especially fond of. The pods have condiments in them, and I don’t do mustard ever. But the hot dog was excellent and not such a huge meal to eat in the heat.

Had the beef bowl a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. DD had the tofu bowl and also really liked it. Wife had a combo and was happy. DS was ok with his buns and said they were good but nothing special.

The chicken has been my favorite so far; I didn't care for the beef. The tofu and fish are both breaded so I have not tried them. I wish they offered a simple grilled fish option.

The potato hash was good if you like sweet potatoes. I want to like sweet potatoes, so I ordered it once and then remembered I really don't like them ;) Now, I only order the salad base. DH gets the rice and beans and seems to like them.

For the sauces, I hesitated the first couple of times there and the CM offered to give me one of each on the side- might be worth asking! I stick to the onion chimichurri now but get it on the side. It's light and flavorful :)

My daughter has eaten the chicken bowl with rice and creamy herb dressing and also has eaten the beef bowl with potatoe hash and creamy herb - she liked both alot but she peferred the beef bowl. She normally loves rice and doesn't like sweet potatoes. I've only had the beef/potatoe/creamy herb bowl and love it. I eat sweet potatoes everyday and the potatoes in the satuli bowl tastes more like regular potatoes to me, i.e. not as sweet which I prefer (for me sweet potatoes are much healthier than regular potatoes but I prefer the taste of regular potatoes).

I have tried to duplicate the beef bowl at home and it was ok/tasty and somehting different. The biggest problem I have is making the beef as tender as they get it at Satuli
