Anybody else get reallly anxious before taking them? I'm sooooo stressed right now. I'm reading through my SAT book like it's my lifesaver and I'm so nervous that I'm going to screw up sooo badly.

Oh. So nervous. Need to calm down.

But besides that, how many of you have taken the SATs (or ACTs)? How many of you plan on taking them this year? Next year? How many of you just don't want to think about it like me?

I don't really get all that nervous before standardized tests.
I was supposed to take the PSATs, buttttt I forgot to sign up. Twice. :]

But yeah, last year before my first AP test, I had like a nervous breakdown.
It was pretty bad.

But no worries, if you screw up, you can always take them over again.

I'm thankfully done with them, but yes I did take them - twice. And I hated it. I never bothered to study but I was happy with my scores anyway.
Try not to stress too much. I've heard cramming is highly ineffective, and it's much better to just review math concepts and vocab a little each day.
Good luck!!

I took the SAT March 1st,for the first time! I just wanted to get it over with! I hope that my scores are good enough for college! I really do not want to take it again!

I was supposed to go for March 1st, but I didn't go. I had drivers ed and didn't want to mess it up.

I'm taking it the next time, whenever that is.

I got a huge SAT book that I'm supposed to be reading right now, but uhhhhh
...I'm not.

Nope.
Only SOL's
Ew especially the written ones.
YUCK

I took the ACTs this past summer and omg I was sooooo worried about them. I have this tendency to have my mind go completely blank when I get tests because I get so worked up about them before hand. :guilty:

Luckily, it only took me taking it twice to pass AND I got out of taking all of the developmental classes at my college, while most my freshman my age have to take them. :goodvibes

Just try to stay as calm as possible. One teacher I had told me that if I didn't know the answer not to waste time thinking about it (since the tests are timed) and just to fill in a random bubble instead. At least then you'll have a 25% chance of getting it right either way.

We're taking SATs in the form of the british end of KS3 assessments.
The science test is HHUUUUUGGGEEEE. Everything from grade 6-grade 8. To top it all off of course our class has been given an idiot of a student teacher. I don't see any of the 40 of us passing the test with him teaching the new topics on the paper. I don't know what the english and maths ones are like yet. Rumour has it that we've already done our RE, geography and history ones, i didn't think they were our end of year ones but i'm happy with my scores for them. I think i had the highest in my grade for history.:cool1:

I get stressy if i don't revise enough, which i never do.

I just finished ISATs. I'm glad. It's stressful.

So. I finished six hours ago, went shopping, ate food, and watched Stargate: The Ark of Truth and I think I'm finally done stressing.

I spent 4 hours in a room testing. 4 hours! It should be illegal! We had 2 5-minute breaks to go to the bathroom and eat snacks, but other than that it was "fillinthebubble.fillinthebubble.fillinthebubble." I think I did good, it seemed waaaay too easy, though so now I'm getting that "It shouldn't have been that easy" stress. Oh, well. A couple weeks and I should know how I did. I hope I did well. The median scores of each section at my first choice college is 650-750. Those are high scores.

Yep. I'll be panicking until my scores come in.

Next task: SAT II Subject Tests and the AP US History Exam in May. Funfun.

A lot of people don't believe in the extra difference taking the ACT does. It truly does help, and many colleges are beginning to look for ACT scores.
