I just called to book the Pirate Cruise for my 4 year old daughter in April, but it was fully booked the week we are there. The CM told me about this new Sassagoula River Cruise, which is very similar to the Pirate Cruise, but it hasn't been advertised yet and people don't know about it so it was open. It takes off from Port Orleans and the boat stops and they find clues, etc. They also take turns being a jester and provide lunch. It's the same price as the pirate cruise as well.

This is very new, and I don't think it actually starts until March 1. I am considering switching DD4 from the Pirate Cruise to this since we are staying at POFQ and it would be a LOT more convenient.

...and so convenient as we will be staying at POFQ!! :Pinkbounc

Could someone tell me more about it? What days of the week? Times? Cost? Does it depart from Riverside or French Quarter? How long is the cruise?

My DD would LOVE it!!! AAAAAUUUUURRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH pirate:

it leaves from PO Riverside and is from 11:30 to 1:30. The cost is $28.17, they serve a lunch of uncrustables, rice crispie treat and juice box, which is included in the price. I signed my daughter up for a Thursday, because that was the day I was trying to get the pirate cruise on, which was full, so that is when the CM suggested this for the same days, she didn't mention what other days they do it, just that it hasn't been advertised yet, so people don't know. I'm sure if you call they'd be more than happy to tell you other days.

Went ahead and booked this for my DD5. I just couldn't pass it up since we're staying at POFQ. It's a Jester cruise which seems kind of fun and ties in with the whole theming of French Quarter. :jester:

I booked this today for my DD4 on March 7.

The CM told me it is to be offered on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The very first cruise is tomorrow, March 2. I hope they have the kinks worked out when DD goes on the 7th LOL!!

Its from 11:30 - 1:30 (standard kid lunch included) and meets at the POR Fishing Hole.

and let us know how it is! My daughter goes on April 20th and is very excited. It really sounds like a neat little outing for them. :)
