Sorry, I know people ask about these kinds of things a lot. How is the bridge weekday around 3:30/4 lately? Any advice? I always go the Sarnia route because that's the way where I know where I'm going. We're going to Miley on Tuesday but dd has an important sports event the same afternoon that she cannot miss. I figure we should be out of the event by 2:15 or 2:30 leaving us at the bridge at about 4. I wish I could get there sooner but dd won't be finished until 2pm at the earliest. Concert doesn't start til 7 at The Palace but I want to get to the hotel first and let dd shower and eat between concert and sporting event.

The traffic ON the bridge shouldn't be too bad. The problem will be the construction on the 402 right before the bridge. It has been down to 1 lane and if the trucks are backed up you will be stuck in it with them. If you can get off before (around Modeland) go north to Michigan, hang a left and follow that road all the way to Front st. Hang a left past the next light and get on the bridge you will bypass most of the problem. It is hard to predict what it will be like.

Agree with the previous poster - safest thing to do is get off at Modeland and take Michigan through to Front. Sarnia's "high" traffic only lasts form about 4:00 - 4:15, so driving through town is never a bad option. The speed limit is down to 50 in the construction zone anyways.

Tuesday is usually not a great day for truck traffic, but not as bad as Wednesdays. They have been putting away the pylons and reopening the second lane between 4 and 5 for the past week. If you have access to a computer before you leave, check the cbsa website (I can't post a link yet) - gives wait times at all crossing points though not always accurate. The Bluewater Bridge Authority website also has a traffic camera - when it's working it can be helpful. They also have a phone number listed you could try calling.

P.S. I highly recommend to ANYONE who travels across the bridge more than once or twice a year to get your NEXUS - best time-saver our family ever did (we go over almost every week).

I also agree that if the trucks are backed up to take the Modeland exit up to Michigan. But sometimes if the traffic on the highway is heavy they will close the Front st. entrance to the bridge. If that is the case you may want to try the Christina st. ramp to get back on the highway. Hey enjoy the Miley concert!

Thanks Canadian DISers, you guys rock!

Good point about the Nexxus card.

Editing: Oh crap! Miley is sick! Maybe we won't be xing the bridge after all :( She cancelled tonight and Saturday's shows. Hope she can still do the Tuesday show. She's rescheduling dates but Oct-Nov is a crazy busy time for us, including our Cali trip and we might not be able to go on another night.
