Is there a section of the resort that is both close to Downtown Disney and the restaurant?
How is the food at the restauant? I've heard that it is good but not a huge selection. Thanks for the help.

The Springs is close to the restaurant, Congress Park is close to Downtown Disney. So the answer is No the first question.

The food at Artist's Pallette is very good and the they offer as many selections as any other fast food resort eatery only different ones. I think the comments that they don't offer much selection simply means those guests did not like what was offered.

I am glad to see that someone else likes Artist's Palette. We really like the food there, we even stop over when we're not staying there for a lunch or two.

When you think about it, the entire resort is close to DTD! We were in the Paddocks in Oct and I walked over to DTD once, it wasn't that bad. Getting to the Carriage House was easy to, thanks to the foot bridge over the water. The Springs are closest to the main building and there is a boat launch to DTD behind the Carriage House. Isn't there a walking path to PI there too? I think I saw it on the map but never investigated it. I've also heard something about an internal shuttle. Maybe you can take a shuttle over to Congress Park and just walk from there.

The food we've had at the Artist Palette has been very good. I'm looking at that list up above and it never seems like there was that much food available! The flatbreads are excellent as well as some of the soups.

There's no path that goes directly to PI, but there is a path that starts near the boat dock and ends at the Cirque du Soleil complex. That was a 10 minute walk, maybe less.

We also walked from the Congress Park area, using the path that goes to DTD Marketplace. It ends in the same area where the bus dropoff is. That was also about a 10 minute walk.

I'll just chime in here with my nickel's worth...

We really enjoyed Artist Palette on our trip 12/18 - 12/25. I second the flatbread pizza...posted a photo of it on the food thread on the restaurant board. In addition to the items listed, we noticed they always had about 4 "board specials" each time we were there...different choices each day. The first day they had a few different panini sandwiches. We tried the BBQ pulled pork panini with smoked gouda and apple chutney, served with a side of Saratoga chips that was fabulous. These specials are limited in number...when we ordered 2, the CM double checked how many were left...2, so she erase that special as soon as we ordered.

As for the internal bus...only saw it a couple of times, but like DuckyforDisney, we were in the Paddocks, right behind the Carrousel bus stop and felt the walk to the Carriage House was easy enough. We didn't opt to do the walk to DD on the north end (Marketplace) since we had a bus stop right there.

I thought the walk from Congress Park was very easy to both the Carriage house and DTD! Took no time at all to either place. Our room was right near the bus stop, so I'd say we were about equidistant to both places.
