Has anyone stayed at the Sartoga Springs Resort? I'd love to heard what you thought of it!
* Rooms?
* Pool?
* Easy to get to Parks?

any pluses or minuses?

You aren't getting many responses because this one has been answered many times in the last few weeks. Do a search on SSR or Saratoga Springs and you will see some people giving their opinions. I haven't stayed there so my opinion isn't really valid at this point, but many have and most seem to really enjoy it.

have a great trip!

We lOVE SSR. The rooms are great, the pools are nice and Artist Palette serves very good (but limited) food.

We also love it's location, we also loved the Disney Institute. We normally go in November (NJ week) when the Magic kingdom closes early. Our kids are 9,8,8,4,and 2. We love being close to the DTD. The fountains, lego store, and lots of other kid friendly things make it great for us. My parents normally come down with us and it is great to be able to run over to pleasure island after the kids bedtime.

The transportation to the parks is by bus, so it is pretty much the same as the other resorts that have bus transportation. We have never really had a problem with any of the resorts and transportation, but we are pretty laid back people. Another plus for SSR is that we would walk to DTD and use it as our own transportation hub. You can get ANYWHERE from DTD.

When we stayed for a couple of nights last October, we thought the rooms were well appointed and very quiet. It is a nice resort.

We just toured for our 2nd time SSR and really this is a preety incredible resort. The arcitecture is absoluely beautiful and really adds to the view from DTD.

I think it was a very wise move on Disneys part because everyone at DTD is looking at the SSR wishing they were there!

The resort itself is quite large however I still prefer the feel of the low rise properties vs the high rise resorts where elevators are mandatory. This is just my opinion.

I really think this resort will be in high demand once all the construction is completed and the vegetation grows a bit more.

The only issue I think some may have is the proximity to the pools may be a bit of a distance depending where you are located.

I'll take a stab at this:
I own @ SSR and I love it! These are just my feelings of course, and not everyone will feel the same way.
I love the decor, it just seems soothing to me , and slightly upscale, but not snooty.
I stayed in a studio, that is all I need for now. I found the sofa bed to be surprisingly comfortable. I am looking forward to trying the next size up room some day, just for that tub :cloud9:
Some folks are concerned about the food choices, not me. It was fine for my needs. We enjoyed everything we had. They have daily specials, too, and family size meals.
I enjoyed the lounge, nice way to enjoy a drink and relax at the end of the day.
In terms of pools. They have never been a big priority to me, so it's hard for me to say quality wise. I didn't swim in the main pool at all, as the Congress Park pool was right off of my patio.
Getting to the parks, everyone has different experiences, because I really think timing and luck have a lot to do with it. I didn't have much of a wait at all. I know it may not always be this way.
I'm sorry to ramble, but this is one of my favorite subjects :)
Hope this helped!

pluses
beautiful rooms, well appointed, nice decor. DTD view is the best!
great pools. The quiet pool is in a beautiful location, on the river overlooking DTD. Just stunning! The theme pool is great. Fun slide, pretty landscaping, nice pool bar(one that you sit at and also has table and chairs)
Nice restaurant and great bar, Turf club is very relaxing and has a pool table. Artist Pallete is upscale food court. I really like the food.
Transportation is fine. Never a problem, busses right out side of the buildings. We rent a car and like the fact that the parking is right ouside the door. DTD is a few min. walk. You can get to any resort direct via. bus for dinner.

We should have shirts made up-Saratoga cheerleaders. :rotfl: :rotfl:

If I could figure out how, I think I would actually make up a shirt! Maybe with the SSR logo somehow. Hmmm, something to think about.

Athenna: How about " Saratoga Rocks!" Get it?? Rocks. :rotfl2:
You caught my quote before I had a chance to edit it. Now my spelling errors will live on. :teeth: Just hope my cheerleading skills are better than my typing skill or I'll be kicked off the squad. :cheer2:

Sorry for taking over the thread cmd0819 but Athena and I are the official SSR cheerleaders. If you like SSR too, you can join the squad.

That's pretty good, Saratoga Rocks! hahaha. I like it.
I would never kick you off the squad, I need a partner in crime. The more the merrier.
Sorry to hijack the thread, please forgive us.

Thanks for all your information! I'm looking forward to my stay next month!

Let us know how your trip was!

We have two studios booked at SSR the night before our cruise next month and I am very much looking forward to trying it out. We will not be there long, but I thought it would be nice to sample the newest DVC resort. Hopefully next stay there will be much longer!

I think you need to read my signature again.

RC, or we could make up shirts that say Saratoga Stinks. ;) ;)

How 'bout that?

Nothing you'd want to see there!
