Hi, we usually stay at the Beach Club but they were booked teh week we will be going to Disney so we're now at Saratoga Springs... what's this resort like? I'm going with my family which includes a 2 year old... is there anything there for her? Tx!

We stayed at SSR with my 22 month old last Nov. It is a beautiful resort - very peaceful and laid back. They have pools and playgrounds - and within walking distance (or a short ride) to DTD. Has a nice Counter Service place for all meals (which is something the Boardwalk area really needs). There is really nothing "special" there for a 2 year old - but IMO I am really not sure what I would call special at BC for that age range either.

While Saratoga is a nice resort, you might want to consider Old Key West. It's not as large as Saratoga and I think it's easier to get around. The rooms are also larger than at Saratoga, too.

You can see photos of the resort at this link:

There is also a fact sheet listing the particulars of the resort here:

Enjoy your trip whatever you choose!:)

We had to switch weeks at the last minute due to a family illness and the only DVC available for our week is SSR. We are staying 5 nights, then moving to the Beach Club resort for 2 nights. I have a son that will turn 12 while at Disney, how is the pool at SSR for that age? Is the slide fun for older kids?
He is disappointed we had to give up our week at BCV and the great pool there. I'm hoping SSR won't be a disappointment. What about room location? Would you go with Grandstand, Springs, or Congress Park?

The pool is ok and slide for a 12 yr old. it's not SAB by any means but it was ok. We did a slpit stay with BC and SSR last June.

I felt it was more moderate in feel of the way the rooms were opened to a concrete walkway not a nice carpeted hallway like we have at the BC (not BCV..we're not DVC members)

I think you will be fine and I think Springs is the best area closest to the main pool The grandstands has a quiet pool by it I think?????

Regarding the difference between SSR and OKW - I would also vote for SSR if your 2YO will go in a stroller. (that is the only way mine will fall asleep while we are away - a walk in the stoller). For stroller walking - SSR is much better - I found OKW a bit cramped and always seemed to be close to parking areas or roads. Another perc is SSR has elevators to roll the stroller in - OKW doesn't if you are on the upper floors.

As for location - I have stayed in both Congress Park and the Springs. I liked CP because it was a quick walk over to Downtown. But, I liked the Springs better cuz it was closer to the main buildings and restaurants.

We stayed in a Studio in Congress Park for two weeks in May. The walk to DTD or the Springs wasn't a hassle one bit. Also, the Bus service is very nice. You just hop on any bus (other than a DTD bus) and you can get to the springs. You hop on a DTD bus and get back to your building.

We had a DTD WestSide view from our balcony (4th floor). It was magical!

I'll post a slide show ASAP.
