Booked a ressie for friends at SSR for early November. Have never been to the resort so am unfamiliar with layout. They have 4 boys that will enjoy pool time, plan on visiting all four parks, and have several evening meals booked for Downtown Disney. They will not have a car so will be dependent on Disney bus service. What location should I request or what are positive/negatives for locations at SSR?

Personally, our fave is the Congress Park section. Its close to DTD, has a quiet pool close, close to a bus stop, and a short walk to the main building. Been there a few times and have never been disappointed.

Congress Park is my favorite followed by Grandstand. Whatever you do avoid Carousel at all cost! It's no man's land, far from bus stop, restaurants and any/all resort ameneties.

I also agree with the Congress Park location. It has beautiful views, is within easy walking distance to DTD and still close to the restaurant, boat launch and feature pool at SSR. At first, they tried to give us Carousel, but they were able to move us to the Paddock section, building closest to Congress Park. Congress Park also has a beautiful, quiet pool with views of DTD. Congress Park would definitely be our family's request when we travel there again. Hope this helps!

I prefer Congress Park also but we wind up walking over to DTD several times per visit. Grandstand has the asset of a nice pool, being the first bus stop and is a short walk to the main pool, restaurants and boat launch. The Springs is closest to the main pool, boat launch and restaurants.

We were in the Paddock section but in the building right on the main road across from Congress Park. It was great! Quiet, right across from the bus stop and close to DTD. We'd definitely request this location again!

Having only stayed there once this past December after buying into DVC, we are far from experienced with the layout. We requested and got the Springs section. With kids we thought being close to the themed pool and main area would best serve our needs. I feel it did just that. We were a hundred yds from bus stop and about the same distance from the themed pool and main buildings with restaurants. Our room overlooked the big lake. At the far side of the lake was a quiet pool and I believe another section ?? The walk from our room to Cirque was less than ten minutes and wound through golf the course. Very relaxing and scenic walk at that! Another five minutes from Cirque and we were at Raglan Road. The only negative thing we realized was coming home by bus, we were the last stop. I would highly recommend the Springs if being in the center of everything was a great desire. Enjoy.

We also stayed in Paddock and thought it was a great location. We were very close to a bus stop and quiet pool. DTD was a 15 or so minute walk and the main lobby/pool was about a 5 minute walk.

When they finish the upgraded pool and counter service option, I think Paddock will become the #1 choice at SSR.

We have stayed here 6 times in 5 sections and prefer Congress Park and Paddock.
