Saratoga Springs A good Choice!

SS is a great value - if you like the resort. Personally I love the resort. There are many on these boards that feel the resort is too large and sprawled out and lacks themeing. You really need to stay at the resort and determine for yourself if this is a place you would like to own.

We like it enough that we added on some points there by resale, because the price was very reasonable. It's a huge resort. We found the castmembers there to be very nice and helpful. The accomodations were very comforable. Busses were OK during our stay, and we enjoyed eating at the Turf Club as well as at the counter service. We're staying in the treehouse accomodations in just 2 weeks, and we may find ourselves adding on a few more points if we like it as much as we think we will!

Saratoga Springs is an excellent value. You can pick up resale contracts at SSR for around $60 a point which is half off the DVC rate. Also, you can stay in any of the DVC resorts with your SSR points when booking 7 months or less out. We own all of our contracts at SSR and are very pleased with our purchases. ;)

We found a contract at $60.00 per point with banked points. So I feel that is is a good value.:)

ssr is good it doe'nt have the location like bcv bwv but if you have a car you park close to your room

I think that's great, the other great thing is you have an 11 month window for THV, a reservation I have yet to attain at the 7 month mark! Congress Park, DTD view is my favorite bldng. to stay!

We bought a resale contract at SSR for $65 a point with banked points this summer. We bought the contract to use the points at 7 months out, as we have other contracts to use at the 11 month window. We like the low maintenance fees, and the longer contract time. We are pleased with our SSR resale contract. Trying to convince DH to let me buy a few more points, but he keeps bringing up the cost of the maintenance fees each year!

I personally do not own at SSR but I think it's a great value. I keep hearing over and over again how quiet it is. I think as my kids get older quiet will become more important to us than location. You also get first dibs on the Treehouse Villas and you are within walking distance to DTD. Others may post to the contrary, but so far we have always stayed where we wished at 7 months out. If I could do it over again, I would go SSR resale. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

It sounds like a great contract. We bought a resale contract this spring for $68 and it was also loaded. We will stay there for the first time in March. Good luck!

We own at SSR and love it. I think it depends on what you're looking for in a home resort. We love the location as we like to leave the parks on have dinner at DTD. We love the ability to walk to DTD. We also like to get away from the "disney atmosphere" and enjoy that its not over-themed.

I say yes. SSR is great and although no, it's not near a major theme park, I love how close it is to DTD!

I am totally biased.. I own there, and I LOVE IT..

Whenever we pull into the resort, and I see the wonderful colors, and the springs.. it brings a huge smile to my face!!!

You will, TRUST ME :goodvibes

I own at both SSR and OKW and have stayed at both. I think both are currently outstanding resale values.

We personally like OKW better for stays because of the lower points costs and much larger, and better designed, villas. To us, those factors far outweigh the 15-year longer contract period (we had an opportunity to get the 15 extra years at OKW and didn't buy it).

But SSR is a lovely resort and both resorts offer very attractive selling prices and annual dues. Both very good values, IMHO.

For some it's a ditractor, for us it's a plus. That why I fell in love with OKW, I prefer once I'm done with the parks to be away from the parks. My teenage son, now prefers to be in the thick of things (meaning girls) so he prefers BWV. We split our time between OKW, SSR & BWV.

If you value being able to walk to the theme parks or see fireworks from your balcony, then SSR may not seem as magical as some of the other choices.

However, SSR is great if you enjoy spending time or eating in DTD. As mentioned, if the 3BR treehouses appeal to you, then owning at SSR has an advantage. If you value golfing or spas, it can be a plus. If you want a bit of an "escape" from the theme park atmosphere, it is a good choice. Also, it is very convienient if you generally use your own car. A second major pool area will be built soon, this will only increase the recreation options at the resort.

I bought at SSR due to price. I'm somebody who generally doesn't care what resort I'm staying at. Normally I want the longest vacation possible, so I love OKW too. Considering that points at SSR are in the 60's now via resale, I personally think it is a great choice. If you want some more special themeing, AKL is another great bargin right now.

What is your opinion of SS. Is it a good choice for resale?

I think if you are making reservations less than 7 months in advance Saratoga Springs is the way to go. If you are making reservations more than 7 months in advance than you would want to own at the resort you want to stay.
