My family of 6 ( me, dh, and kids: 17, 13, 7, 3) is trying to decide between a 2 bedroom villa at Saratoga or Kidani. Please help us decide which one is better. We are going in December and trying to decide which option is better. I love the refurb rooms at SSR but my kids want to see the animals and the rooms look great but Kidani is so far from everything else. Looking for pros and cons of each resort.
Thanks!

Hands down Kidani! I own there so I’m probably a bit partial.
-One of best resorts for restaurants if not the best. I know they’re all not open but still, at least Sanaa is.
-Animals
-More quiet since it’s secluded from rest of the bubble
-Awesome pools with slides
-Great fitness center
-Underground parking garage
-Out of this work architecture both in and out
-Luxury of 2 resorts with Jambo just a short walk or bus ride away.

For my family it’s all about the memories. We went to Saratoga last year after Thanksgiving in a 2 bedroom. The room was fantastic and had 5 beds if that matters to you. 1 king, 2 queen, Murphy bed, and twin Murphy bed as well. We purposely choose SSR because we wanted to go shopping and eating at the springs. We also wanted to see the other resorts decorations for Christmas so we took the buses from the springs. We even enjoyed the modified Christmas Tree Trail at the springs.
There is no comparison between SSR and AK. AK is breath taking with animals and design. It really depends what is on your schedule. Do you want to relax and see beautiful animals and resort or get out and about to see everything Disney does for the holidays?

We love both hotels for different reasons and the points are roughly the same if you leave Savanna view out of the equation. A big question for this December is will Jambo and all its amenities be reopened yet? Theres quite a bit still missing from AKL right now if you are going to enjoy resort amenities, while everything is open at SSR. We recently chose SSR over AKL for a resort only pool stay back in November because of the number pools to choose from(if one was too crowded) and for all of the open walkable outdoor spaces.

I would choose kidani all day long. I am not a fan of resorts so big that there are multiple bus stops. I can't compare directly because even though we own at SSR we have actually never stayed there. Only Jambo, Kidani, Boardwalk, and Wilderness Lodge. Of those Boardwalk is by far my favourite but Kidani would be second. We have SSR booked for next Christmas because of the 11 month window but if I can switch it at the 7 month I for sure will do so

Kidani gets props for 3 full bathrooms in a 2BR villa. But you will be a bus ride away from everything.

SSR is in the process of a full refurb. All villas in preferred locations have been finished and standard locations should be done by December. The sleeper sofa has been replaced by a sofa/Murphy bed combo that has a real mattress and will be more comfortable for whoever ends up sleeping on it. SSR is also within walking distance of Disney Springs where you will find plenty to do if the parks are still operating on an early closing schedule.

My personal preference would be to go with SSR but you cannot make a bad choice here.

Ok...we just got back from staying a week at Kidani and a week at SSR. Both were fabulous! So I do not think you can go wrong. In terms of distance, both are far from the parks, but bus service was good at both.

SSR has the advantage of being walking distance from Disney Springs, and the renovated rooms Are amazing. However, with young kids, Disney Springs isn’t as much of a draw. The Turf Club is closed at SSR (one of our favorite restaurants on property) so we had to go to DS, or order from QS. We were in a renovated apartment and it was incredible.

Seeing the animals is amazing at Kidani. The restaurants are also amazing at Kidani, but only Sanaa is open right now. We ordered takeout from there a couple of times because it booked up. The Kidani pool is closing for renovation soon so if you go there you should check to make sure the pool will be open as well as the restaurants.

I will admit Kidani is in need of a renovation...IMO. The hallways are pretty beat up. Our room was impeccable tho.

your choices are between amazing and amazing. Good luck!
