Sarahsmom (Jen's) Journal (feel free to comment)

:flower: Hi, Jen! Thanks for stopping by my journal. Congratulations on all those pounds you're losing. You should be proud! :Pinkbounc And in the midst of concert stress, no less! Way to go!

My DH and I run a private music studio now, but I remember my days teaching k-5 and chorus in NY. Actually we lived on L.I. for a short time and that's where I taught public school. It was fun, but those concerts were always stressful. It was never the parents you had to impress, it was all the dept. heads! Best wishes on Tuesday. . .it'll be fine, I'm sure. The kids always pull out there best at the end.

Keep up the great work and stop by and visit when you get a chance.

Erin

Congrats on keeping the loss going even through show stress!! I know what that's like!!

Once it is over you can focus more on your exercising... You seem to have it all under control and that is great!!

Kudos to you... A mom.. teacher... wife.. AND you are an active WISHER!! Wow.. You Go Girl!! LOL!!! :cheer2:

Good luck with the concert!!

Kathy

Guess what! I trimmed my 2 mile jog down to 30min 56 sec last night! YAY! Yesterday it was 32.16! My legs are sore but a good sore... You have all really motivated me with the exercize and I know I'll see better results, when I am consistant.. I just have to make a pact with myself, that I get at least 30 monutes a day for me!

Tonight should prove to be interesting... We have having dinner at ny inlaws... My MIL is making Lasagne.... It has been a year and a half since I have taken a bite of the stuff...(I rarely eat pasta these days. It is the one thing that I never returned to after my 1st go around on atkins... I honestly don't really care for it.. That is amazing for someone who once ate pasta 5 days a week) I really hope there is salad! I don't think my stomach can take it! Wish me luck! :flower1:

Thanks for the visit Kathy and Erin!

I just read through your journal! Wow! You just keep up that great work, bring your own salad tonight in case it is not offered. It's family, they will understand! If not, oh well...

Glad you go through your concert craziness too. Sounded very, very stressful.

Jen - did you say how tall you are? Just curious...

Good luck with jogging too. Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff. Just keep it up! :D :D :D

Way to go Jen! :cool1: That is wonderful that you are able to trim some time off of your mile runs!!! Woohoo! :jumping4:

How did dinner at your MIL's go last night? Every Saturday after church, my MIL has dinner at her house for anywhere from 7-14 people. As a result, we often eat pasta or pizza, so I know what you mean. Hope everything went well for you last night. ::yes::

Have a wonderful Sunday! :flower1:

Excellent progress on your run!!!! You are doing fantastic!

Can you bring a salad just in case there isn't one? Good luck with dinner!!!!

Sundie

30 minutes!!! I did my 2 miler in 30 minutes! That is the pace I am going to try to keep at for a while.. I am going to try to add another mile tomorrow! I check out the site about training for half marathons and the novice distance is 3 miles to start...

I can tell I am getting excited about how my clothes are fitting because I am finding myself look at the spring fashions in Lands End and LL Bean and wanting to buy colors! I am usually a balck, brown, dark color person.. The other day I wore my pink paisley Tommy Hilfiger shirt and foudn myself longing for COLOR!!!

I need to shower and then I am off to the inlaws for dinner... I think the exercize before dinner has been a good thing... I'm not even close to being hungry!!!

:cool1: Good work with your exercise! You know that being consistent is my personal challenge, too. I'm positive that if we make ourselves do it, we'll see lots of great results.

How was dinner?

Erin

Well.. I survived.. I ate salad a samll piece of lasagne and 1 cookie... I know it totally was not on the diet and I am paying dearly with gas... On the other hand I am not beating myself up as I know my food for tomorrow is safe.. I fell most comfortable in the "safe zone"...

Here's to another consistant day in the exercize dept! :flower1:

As for results... I WANT NEW SPRING CLOTHES!!!! There that shoud keep me motivated! :cool1:

My legs are a bit sore today, but a good sore! I am going to work towards the 3 miles today! I think I can do it!

We are off today MLK day but I put a lot of stuff off until today! I need to get lesson plans finished...

I think I shorted myself a bit of water yesterday... I know I drank less than usual so I will make up for it today!

The concert is tomorrow so I suppose I'll wake up thinking about concert details at 3 am!!!

Way to go with all the exercise and not overdoing it at dinner. Spring will be here before we know it and it is a constant reminder when going into any department store! I just cannot get over the bathing suits coming out in January!

Good luck with your concert tomorrow!

Gail

I know what you mean about spring clothes! I told my DH that I refuse to go shopping though until I get at least 10 lbs off me. Then I can go and stock up on summer shirts and I have a $100 gift certificate to the Gap to get me started. :)

Have a good day and good luck on the 3 miles! You are doing great with your exercise program and consistency is the key to success there!

~Amanda

26:45! I did 2 miles in 26:45!!! Go Jen! :cheer2:

I really had wanted to try 3 miles, but I am getting a blister in a really wierd place on my left foot.. I had some blister things to put on it but I could feel it slip off at the 2 mile mark and I decided to stop, instead of pushing myself and getting a bad blister and not be able to run at all... I am feeling really great with the exercize!

Unless school is cancelled tomorrow since we are under a windchill warning for temps of -45 F I won't be runnign tomorrow due to my concert.. I wanted to get a good run in today!!!

I made a crustless quiche with ham, cheddar and mushrooms and am going to try an asian stir fry of veggies... That will give us a couple of meals and will make life easy!

I am guzzling the water like mad... I am about to enter PMS week so I think I will not even step one foot near the scale... I usually gain about 5lbs of water weight this week...I certainly don't need to see the scale say that... I have to trust that if I am within my carbs and am exercizing I'll be ok! :flower1:

Jen, you did a fantastic job with your exercise today! I hope you had a nice day off and best wishes for your concert tomorrow (if it's not cancelled :) ). :wizard:

Wow Jen!! :earseek:

You are cruisin' through these 2 mile runs!!! Woohoo!!! Great job!! :cheer2:

Did you say -45 degress tomorrow???? Yikes!!! :earseek: What happens if there is no school tomorrow? Will the concert be rescheduled? Either way, please stay warm and safe tomorrow!

Well is is only -31 with the windchill. Uusually it is -31 without!!!.. That is positively balmy for this time of year! :cool1: The problem is it was in the 50's above last week and I wore fleece... That is like an 80 degree temp change!! They rarely cancel school for cold, although last year when we had a week of -35 without the windchill and the high for the days was -25 the bus fuel finally started to gel up.. We have the largest geographic school district in NYS so we have kids that catch the bus VERY early...

Now we have a new Supt. who doesn't seem to want to use snow days or close early.... We have 4 snowdays we can use and haven't used 1 yet.. That is amazing for here!

Perfectly fine today though... I just want to get my concert done... Then I can concentrate on all the other stuff for the rest of the year (5more concerts, 1 recital, 1 5th grade musical, 1 st grade musical)etc...

I probaly won't have a chance to check back in today! Here's to a great eating and water day! (My adreneline is humming.. Does that boost your metabolism?)
