Sarah's Art is going to state finals

If any of you remember my posting a a very disappointed thread awhile back after my daughters art seemingly did not do well in the regional art competition.

I grumbled a lot, typical mom etc. Well 2 weeks ago we got a message that she had moved on from regional and would be competing in the district competion tonight. We were confused since she clearly did not seem to win any award last time. When we went tonight we found she had been selected as the top winner in her age group in the district (14 schools) and is going onto to the state level in May.

Im just so proud.

Last time I posted a scanned portion of the picture entitled "Together". Here is the whole picture. Its not a great pic but it shows the entire work.

I just have to add this picture of the little one who did not find the awards ceremony very interesting, so he spent quite a bit of time in the corner getting friendly with the EXIT sign.. what a goofball!

I'm so glad it worked out. It sounds like it got displayed at district regardless of the judging status at your school. Maybe once it got past the politics into a more annonymous forum they saw it for what it was - beautiful!

It's nice to see her talent recognized!

Wow, that's an amazing picture. How old is your daughter? Best of luck at the state finals. However, no matter how she does she and you should be very proud.
