She was on Conan last night and let me just say, she is pretty funny when she is not being filthy, raunchy.

I hope she eventually realizes that she does not have to be so dirty with her jokes, that her wit and dry humor are very funny!

Meh. She has plenty of fans who like her just the way she is.

I can only think what she would say about that.:lmao:

As I've said many times here I don't think anything is off limits when it comes to humor...

Yes, I've noticed. I just feel some things actually are a bit inappropriate for a family friendly Disney community forum. Just my opinion.

My opinion as well.

You can like whatever you like, but you really didn't need to share that with all of us.

I'd say you were a sad little man but there's not much manly about your comments. Your mother/sisters/aunts/grandmothers must be so proud.

:confused3 Eh, whatever. I really don't care what you think about the comics I find funny. I also don't see why anyone would attack me personally because I can find humor in jokes about things that many other people find just as much humor in. I'd never attack anyone else because they find the garbage sitcoms on television funny. It isn't my style but as I've said already humor is perhaps the most subjective thing other than beauty.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Most aren't going to come across good in a written medium and giving an example would probably get me points. A simple Google search along the lines of "opie anthony miscarriage joke" will get you some though if you are interested.

You are free to laugh or not, what you find humor in is no more my business then what I find humor in is your business. I really don't get it, plenty of people go see stand-ups that tell exactly these kinds of jokes and the audience laughs at them. It isn't for everyone but it is just humor and nothing more. No need for anyone to get all indignant about a joke.

There is a time and a place for everything. A Disney board, even in a Community section, maybe not be the time nor place for such references. Crassness isn't very funny if you don't know your audience. A comedy club full of people full of booze, now that is a time and a place for the material you've referenced.

As to Ms. Silverman, although I love dry humor and witty people, she just doesn't float my boat. I find her trying a bit too much.

Exactly, which is why I just referenced the material in a thread about a comic who tells jokes about that material as opposed to give examples of the jokes. No one will convince me that anything should be off limits for comics.

When Silverman was in her late 20s/early 30s, her schtick was funny, but now that she is in her 40s, I am very much over her.

And I was shocked, SHOCKED when I read that Chelsea Handler was younger than me. She looks at least 45 years old on a good day.

Frank, I'm going to try & help you out here. I think I understand what you are saying - your brand of humor is different. Fine. But I know you've posted much the same thoughts on other threads & it didn't go well. Your best bet would be to keep your thoughts to yourself on what I'm sure you know will be hot-button. I don't think you mean to, but it just stirs the pot. You've posted enough on similar threads that most posters know your POV, so no need to share again.

Having your own brand of humor is just fine - and I'm not suggesting we all have to agree on everything, as that would make boring threads -but for God's sake, man, know when to post & when to step away. Otherwise, it looks as though you're just stirring the pot.

I like some of your poats & you seem like a nice person - just some friendly advice. :)

Yes, Chelsea DOES look older. She appears to have partied hardy for a lot of years.

I'm not trying to convince you. You don't know my brand of humor and I still find even your references here to be off the mark for a Disney board. We really don't need to know her style or the types of examples; we know her already.

And really. You're in a section that skews female and you mention rape jokes. You're just trying to get attention.

First, thank you for a logical and well thought out post. Second, I'm really lost as to why anyone's choice of humor would be hot-button. I have no idea how anyone would find a show like The Middle funny but if someone wants to post on a thread that they think it is the funniest thing ever I'm not going to attack them for it. I don't want to be told to shut up because I don't adhere to the popular POV (not that you are doing that but some do here).

I don't like anyone, not here or anywhere, trying to be the humor police or word police (ban the whatever-word) and when people try to do those things I'm going to speak up against them. You can disagree with me logically like you did which is fine. I have no problem with opposing views and have never tried to sway anyone. I see no reason to take a minor thing like humor and use it as a reason to attack anyone personally as some have.

One of the reasons I think Sarah along with Chelsea and Bonnie Bernstein are funny is because they aren't "safe" comics like most women. You aren't a funny comic, IMO, until I've heard you tell a good rape or miscarriage joke.

Wow, your wife must be proud!
