Sarah and Josh

The bride- Sarah:
I am a 26 year old Sr. Chemical Engineer from Peoria, Illinois. I am friendly, social and artistic. I am a girly-girl that has always loved Disney movies especially princesses and from a very Disney oriented family. I met Josh in July of 2010. My fairy godmother had been very busy. Josh was a quiet, charming guy that I instantly knew would be my husband. Yes, I did laugh at people who said that... only to become one! My prince charming was a 25 year old Software Engineer/IT Analyst. By Christmas, we were engaged.

To celebrate, we went to Disney! We had the best time. We ate, ate and ate some more. We loved Disney. Then we came home to a very cold Illinois winter to start wedding planning and with our schedules, I knew this task would be miserable. I dreaded the thought of it. So we went to what many would consider gorgeous venues.. but we were both not really crazy about one. We thought they all had "wedding food" compared to our amazing Disney trip... so one day we both knew... We were getting married at Disney. Let me tell you that the planning for this wedding has been nothing but great. No stress. Just excitement.. and I love that.

Your ring is gorgeous!!

I looked at the St. Augustine room too, it's so pretty! :goodvibes We only had about 40 people at our wedding though, so we went with the Whitehall Room.

Can't wait to see what else you've planned!

:welcome: Congrats on your engagement!! Can't wait to read everything you have planned for your big day!

Bec-

I loved reading your PJ.
We are having the Whitehall room for our cocktail hour. Though, we are not quite sure if we really want a cocktail hour with having a dessert party with the fireworks. :)

Thanks! Your weddings are almost here. Woot woot! I am so envious and impatiently waiting...

We had a great engagement party on May 15, 2011. It was themed: pink, purple and hidden Mickeys.

Our gorgeous cake (with hidden Mickeys):

Miss Vicki- you were the first PJ, I have ever read. Isn't that crazy? I work in Peoria (engineer at Cat) and live in Bloomington (DF works for State Farm) but was raised in a small town north of Peoria. So I am always around if you want to get a coffee and talk Disney weddings.

Inspiration cake (yes, I tactfully added the mickeys) I hate fondant. I am hoping for an alternative.

Ah! That is so crazy! It was meant to be, haha! We currently live in the capitol while I finish grad school, but we go back home every other week it seems like though, now that the wedding is over I hope it will be a little less. Sure thing that would be great to meet up and discuss all things Disney! I almost had a DCL wedding in the beginning, but the thing about P-town is not everyone is a Disney fan if you know what I mean. My family looked at me like I had two heads :rotfl: We ended up getting married in town at the Apollo theater about a month ago, I put up a couple of pictures yesterday, but I haven't started my Wedding TR yet. Lovely, lovely cake and I love the Disney elements you added :cutie:

My BF (hopefully soon fiance) and I love Disney too! And we're thinking about having a Disney Wedding! I love all your ideas and everything; so cute! I would love to see a close up picture of your passport and wedding day itinerary. We already decided that when we get married we want to have a Disney wedding. And since I'm a teacher, it's got to be one school vacation. I'm not able to take more than 3 personal days during the year. We're thinking small ceremony (Escape, but don't know where yet) and maybe dessert reception for others not coming/invited to ceremony. We just want everyone to have fun and what better place than DISNEY WORLD?!?!
Thanks!

I very much agree! I am thrilled we picked WDW as our wedding site. We had an engagement party to tell our plans as opposed to having another expensive reception at home.

Congrats!! Your engagement party looks awesome!

I love your cake! So elegant!!

I can't wait to hear more about your plans!! :goodvibes
