Sarah and Kate.... (is it just me????)

I'm not a fan of either woman, but I think it's a stretch to think that Sarah herself had a lot to do with "setting up Kate for failure" to make herself look better or for any other reason. I strongly question whether Sarah even knew who Kate was more than the basics of the 8 children and the tabloid covers. I seriously doubt she's a big fan of Kate's show. There was no logical reason for Sarah to think that Kate would think she was the bigger "star." I'd be surprised if my dad even knows who Kate is, but he most certainly knows who Sarah is!

I don't doubt that TLC set Kate up for failure. I also don't doubt Sarah was probably disgusted by Kate allowing her kids to tear around her home, etc. before the camping trip even started. It was probably a miserable and uncomfortable experience for all adults and older children involved. But I have to admit, it made for one hilarious and entertaining episode!

I don't think anyone is saying that Sarah was plotting to go after Kate. You are right, Palin probably didn't even know who Kate was.

But the whole thing was a set up from the show, it is Sarah's show so she had to look good. It's likely that Kate had to go per her contract with the network and they knew what it would be like for her to be there.

And I'm not a fan of either one of them. They both are very similar in one way. They both put their children on display in pursuit of money and publicity. They should have been best of friends.

I was just going from the OP's post that Sarah was being a "mean girl." I may be too biased against Kate because I thought she acted HORRIBLE throughout the entire episode, not just the camping part. I guess I was just impressed at how mean Sarah was NOT. I thought Sarah held it together pretty well considering how she herself, her family and her belongings were disresptected by this crazy diva and her 8 (count 'em) kids

Kate acted like a spoiled teenager. She could have pretended it wasn't so bad. I don't like camping but I would put on a happy face if I accepted a invite. Be nice for the kids.

I don't care for camping and I hate the cold. But what else do you expect if you go camping in Alaska? I actually agreed with the things Kate was saying. However, I wouldn't have ever let my host know I felt that way. Especially if I kew I was being filmed for national television, I would have kept my mouth shut. I know television can be edited and manipulated but they can't show you saying it if it doesn't come out of your mouth. I think the thing that bugged me most about Kate was when she wanted to leave and asked the kids if they wanted to leave or stay. They all wanted to stay. So she told them she was leaving and they were Palins now, not Gosselins. That was so wrong! I felt bad for the kids. I am not usually a Kate basher but she had an attitude the entire time.

Kate was mean for saying her kids would be Palins if they stayed and no longer Gosselins. When you are away from home, a child's worst fear is unfamiliar territory and getting lost. Kate used a child's fear and black-mailed her kids to leave.

I am shocked that she allowed them to fish, so close to the river. The river was running very fast. Remember when Jon took everyone fishing, and how he untangled lines forever. Kate really lost a precious time with her kids, by being so stubborn and not helping take care of her kids. Sarah's dad said it best, "she was a ***** the minute she got off the plane."

This was my first thought that of course Sarah would come off looking good because it was her show. I'm sure Kate will air a show about it and things will look entirely different.

Kate never came off looking real great on Kate's show, so I don't understand the logic that Sarah would automatically come off looking good on Sarah's show
