Seller backed out of the 30pt BWV (so only 25pt now), so i'm somewhat relieved. lol
Back on the hunt for CCV/BLT.!!

I hate it when they do that! That’s usually means one spouse wanted to sell and the other (or kids) didn’t want to.

The seller still has to pay the agents commission and title fees…. so it just cost them money to put their contract up for sale….

And i don't really need the points right now anyway, so its fine for me, just was excited to get more than 25, but less than 50.
Another will come around at some point and prices may keep falling on 2042 resorts.

SAP = sleep around points, SAP+ = sleep around points plus AKA points with a somewhat desirable home resort that you enjoy staying at but also don't feel bad about using at at other resorts

Compare this to points purchased at Beach Club or Grand Californian which have extremely valuable home resort priorities but are also extremely expensive and are therefore terrible to use at other resorts.

SSR = the best SAP points. Cheap purchase price and cheap dues, points you would plan on using at 7 months at anywhere with availability (most likely an upgrade from SSR)
CCV, BLT = SAP+ points. Cheap purchase price, cheap dues, but also with great locations (technically Poly & VGF are in the great location & cheap dues group as well, but with a higher purchase price) I guess Subsidized Aulani as well. I just think the dues are going to surpass others in the near future.

BLT @ $130 = $13,000 / 35 = $371.43
$3.71 + $7.59 = $11.30ppp

CCV - $11.29 (SAP+)
BLT - $11.30 (SAP+)
SSR - $11.31 (SAP)
VGF - $11.33 (SAP+)
Poly - $11.70 (SAP+)

I had to go way, way, way back to find these numbers, but BLT and CCV have dropped another $15-20 from these numbers (and SSR has not dropped much, though you see the occasional deal)— so while I personally am too lazy to run the math, I think a good deal on CCV/BLT might work out to be .50c a year lower each year than SSR. Paying $100 less on 200 points to be at BLT/CCV is not too shabby!

I hope I’m wrong, but I think BLT is going to get more popular as PVB and VGF start to absorb the impact of Poly Tower (and BLT gets a facelift). We are local to DLR and mostly visit the non-castle parks in WDW (and already own VGF) but if I didn’t have more VGF than I needed, I’d be buying BLT.

I think it’s the best “value” right now… especially if you don’t want to jump on a boat or bus.

Let’s see how it looks after the remodel. If they get it right, the resale price could skyrocket by $40pp….

Cancel and rebook is obviously risky if availability is not there before you cancel (waitlist, stalkers etc...), but it worked for me. I probably wouldn't try it with a reservation I really wanted... I had a back-up already booked somewhere else before I tried the cancel/rebook....

For awhile I was double booking my split stays with a fake Saratoga reservation just so I could have one long continuous stay and avoid having to wake up twice at 7AM or call into WDW dining to make my advanced dining reservations and then cancelling the SSR reservation after my dining reservations were made LOL.

Very good points, both of you, to having a "backup" reservation. Giving more nuances to the "+" part of SAP+... I had done that with trying to rebook other lodging, but never done it for dining reservations. Knock on wood, but since COVID I've generally been able to find what I wanted in the regular 60-day window or within 24-48 hours. Then again, we go a LOT so there's no single reservation that I MUST have on a particular day....

Can't wait! Because Poly and VGF and CCV/BRV all have more obvious theming, I feel like BLT gets a little undervalued. I would love something new and Mary-Blair-referencing in the refurb, but really, you had me at "Murphy."

still waiting on the ROFR, but our current offer on CCV gets me to about $10.87/pt
This was our lowest cost option when I ran all the numbers. we'll see if it works out.

I did run the numbers this morning using an average price per point sent to ROFR. Spouse and I are hankering for SAP/SAP+ points to use to book a poly bungalow every 2-3 years (stayed there for 8 nights last year, looooooved the plunge pool).

Assuming my math is right, BLT nudges SSR by about 30 cents per point per year over the life of the contract. It’s a higher up front of course which is where spouse is balking but I just do not want to get stuck at SSR - not our thing.

Yep, that was my thinking too, even if a little more, CCV and BLT just made more sense. I’m not a big fan of Disney Springs, so SSR isn’t worth saving a few cents.

I actually selected SSR for the earlier expiration date compared to BLT as much as the lower upfront cost. Although I did make offers in 2023 on BLT first.

My daughter will be 64 when SSR expires, and I figured it was better to not have the commitment as she goes into retirement. If she wants to add that will be on her.
