Santas in NYC

What in the heck was going on in Manhattan this weekend? There were Santas everywhere. I have no idea what they were protesting. Anyone know?

Are you sure they were protesting? It's NYC, it's Christmas, there are Santa's everywhere!

I passed four, yes four this morning in the TWO blocks from Penn Station to my office. They were giving out little bags of pretzels.

LOL! We were taking the subway in to midtown Manhattan the other day and FOUR Santas came on the train, along with two very sexed up kitten-with-a-whip elves. It was hilarious!

i found something called santacon.....
folks "organize" and gather as santas elves etc...and celebrate(bar hop) ....

sounds sorta like those "flash" gatherings but with santas....

I'm pretty sure they were protesting or something (or were atleast an organized group). Its not like it was a few Santa's here and there. There were atleast 3 blocks of them together.

Rick, some of these were "sexed-up" too. We had to take a picture of them because there were just SO many! (Pics of all of them, not the sexed up ones lol.) Oh, and I didn't even ride the subway this weekend. I need to go back to do that.

My daughter was one of those Santas and no they were not protesting anything! They were on a pub crawl - Santacon 2008 I think she said they called it. They do it every year (this was dd's first year) and it's just a day of drinking and merriment, going from bar to bar!

We saw many, many, many santas...and one elf pole dancer on a sort of float. (It did not seem to be her first time!) LOL The santas were very happy to have her in the procession.

We saw them at Grand Central Station on Saturday. It was one of the highlights of our day.....hundreds of buzzed Santas chanting 'ho ho ho'.

There was a huge group of them standing on the street in Cologne, Germany on Saturday as well. A bunch were coming out of a large van and there were a dozen or so motorcycles with Christmas trees (decorated) on the back that were there.
