Looking to go to DLP in early December.

It would just be my mother and muself.

These two hotels are the same price.

Which hotel is nicer?

Thanks.

A good question.

I have stayed at the Cheyenne once but never at the Santa Fe but we walked through the Santa Fe area last time just to get some impressions of it.

I do not like the theming and the atmosphere there.

For the same price I would stay at the Cheyenne which is the better one in my oppinion if I have to compare these two hotels.

Hope that helps a little bit.

I would suggest the Santa Fe for you and your mother as the rooms have two double beds as opposed to one double and bunk beds in the Cheyenne rooms. Added to that the Santa Fe rooms are all refurbished while those in the Cheyenne can be a little shabby. I've always thought of them as rather dark too. Externally the Cheyenne is prettier IMHO but both offer identical breakfast fare/facilities and the walk to the park is similar (and both are served by free shuttles).

As two adults I would suggest the Santa Fe for the same reasons mentioned above. The sleeping arrangements would be two good sized double-beds whereas the Cheyenne will be one double-bed and a set of bunk beds.

Although the theming of the Cheyenne is great, it is in desperate need of a refurbishment and is looking very tired in places. The Santa Fe had a full renovation a few years back and the rooms all look fantastic now!

I would go for the Santa Fe too, as the rooms in this hotel have two double beds in them.

I always thought that there are bunk beds at Santa Fe too ! I´m still learning on this forum.:goodvibes

Without kids two double beds will be a better option but I love the theming at the Cheyenne more.

I've also been told that the fruit salad at breakfast is fresh fruit in Santa Fe but tinned in Cheyenne. A small difference but important to me. :)

I'd say Santa Fe for the beds, but Cheyenne for the theming, I just love the Cheyenne in winter because it just feels like you're staying in a log cabin

After all that when i looked at different train times, etc, it was just under £100 more to stay at Newport Bay.

I'd choose cheyenne because you can sleep on top bunk and use the bottom to store your suitcase :D

Wherever you choose to stay, you can always walk through Cheyenne to enjoy the theming :scratchin

The beds in the Santa Fe are way more comfortable! I love the theming of the Cheyenne but the beds were like planks of wood! You can always wander over to the Cheyenne for a meal, drink or look around from the Santa Fe. I haven't stayed at the Santa Fe since the refurb but I would like to :) is the Newport bay hotel still undergoing refurbishment? If it is that might be something to consider as I know for a while some facilities were closed. The best hotel in Dec in my opinion is SL you can't beat that lodge feeling when the Christmas decorations are up and the fire is roaring :)

We've only ever stayed at the Santa Fe and we love it! Great for two adults :)

We're regular visitors to the Santa Fe and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Even better since the refurbishment!

We statyed at the Cheyenne once but didn't like the beds at all - we'd probably give it antoher try after it's refurbishment next year.
