Santa at WDW

Can everyone share their recommendations for seeing Santa at WDW? We'll be there early Dec, hitting all the parks, but likely skipping MVMCP this year. Thanks!

We saw Santa and Mrs. Claus in Epcot last year. It was a quiet day (early dec) and the wait was longish compared to other characters, but only about 25 min or so? I do remember we had to really book it after to make our ADR at Hacienda San Angel, so we must have lined up around 530.

Santa will be in Disney Springs across from Ghiradellhi. Obviously, he'll only be there up to the 24th.. He's got gifts to deliver and will be having a very busy few weeks thereafter.

We saw Mr & Mrs. Claus at Epcot. We probably waited about 1/2 hour. We saw Santa Goofy at Hollywood Studios and waited about 10 minutes (I don't think people knew where to find him). Both were lots of fun!

Can someone post all the locations Santa likes to show up and take photos with kids? I like to know the designated areas setup just for him. I would like to get our Christmas card photo taken while down there in December.

There are 2 locations where Santa is planned to be:

1- In Disney Springs: "Santa will be back—this year in a new location across from Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop—which creates a perfect opportunity to savor a rich hot chocolate while you’re waiting to meet him. The best part? Just like last season, guests will be able to pick up a pager upon check-in to secure their place in a virtual queue line." 2- In Magic Kingdom: During the Christmastime parade (cannot meet) and during MVMCP (can meet).


They have not officially released additional Santa meetings, but in general Santa is ONLY available prior to December 24th, after which, Goofy steps in for the big red man while he is delivering gifts and goes back to the North Pole to conduct the post-Christmas analysis and planning sessions for next year.

3. Check with your resort. He has been known to show up there from time to time.

4. Unless things have changed he and the wife should be at EPCOT near the American Adventure pavilion. There are also 2 very close to Santa Holiday Storytellers. In France (Pierre Noel) and the UK (Father Christmas).

Mid? Probably pretty slim. I think Santa starts showing up after Thanksgiving.

On our trip in November 2012, Santa was by City Hall during the day. We just happened to walk by and notice him with only 5 other families in line. My boys were 10 & 12 at the time and weren't too thrilled that I was making them stay in line to see Santa. We had purchased MM and the photographer was snapping pictures like crazy. We walked out of there with over 30 pictures, Santa had my boys laughing!! He spent about 5 minutes with us (and with each of the families ahead of us). These are some of our favorite pictures from our trip!

One year we met him often .... Magic Kingdom Santa was very very good, highly interactive and personal, DTD Santa was a busy guy and pretty much running them through the line, Mr & Mrs Claus at the American Pavilion in Epcot are a great photo - we've done it often - and always had a nice experience particularly with Mrs. Claus. Most years now we just do MK and Epcot. And last year met Sandy Claws = awesome, but that is not what I'd count as a Santa meeting.

****You can find SANTA at Disney Spring as early as the first week of Dec. We visited WDW last year from the 12/05 to 12/12 and we saw him everytime we went to "Downtown Disney" Try going in the weekday, Morning or early afternoon to avoid long lines. You can take beautiful pics and Santa looks REAL!!!! His reindeer does take "carrot breaks" and they cut off the line and you may have to wait 30 mins or more depending on no of ppl. But it's completely worth it, My daughters love him and really believed that it was the real Santa. Whenever you arrive, just ask the a crew member at Disney Springs for Santa's current schedule. **** Good Luck!!!

I read that they will have Christmas card backdrops and pics with Santa and I was wondering if they will have Memory Maker photographers at these locations?

There should be Photopass photographers staffed with Santa at his greet location. Randomly they do pop up at other places (I got pics from one over by the "snowman" display outside the Christmas store a few years ago) but with no where as much certainty as at Santa himself. (FYI, MemoryMaker is just the name of the product where you can download your pictures, Photopass is the still the name of the photography service they offer)

I would say WS at Epcot. There is a traditional Santa in every country and its just wonderful.
