sanity in a box (exploding box) directions

yep that's the one I did but I kept my largest paper 12x12 and then cut down from there.
Not sure if glitter adventure mentioned it or not but I used the 4 squares that you cut away as the mats in Lisa's box. No waste!!!

I keep messing up the lid though if I leave the paper 12x12, it's too big. I was never good at math....:rolleyes1

rofl, I'm not good at math either, but I think the lid would be 9x9? I think I just added 3 to each measurement when I did the 12x12 piece of paper. I wrote it down someplace, I'll look. :) maggie

Thanks for sharing the directions.

I have two questions - Buffy, how long would you say it took you to make the sanity one?

Also, in your opinion, if you gave an exploding box that was decorated but had no pictures on it to someone that didn't scrap, would they know what to do with it? I was thinking this would make a nice birthday gift for someone, but I probably wouldn't be around when she opened it.

they probably only take about an hour to put together, longer if you are trying to decide what pictures to use. :) you could always put birthday poems/sayings/etc on the flaps instead of pictures and just put one picture right in the middle. I am thinking about using the teacher candy poem on one for back to school teacher things. maggie

please share the teacher candy poem!!!
I need to work on these the first of Aug for my last 2 elem. kiddos.. my other 2 are in middle school and one in high school.. so it's not "cool" to take stuff in except at Christmas time...

It looks like it could be doable for me. I will have to use some of my not so good paper first to make sure I know what I'm doing before going to the Bazzil

That was me too. I had to make two lids because I calculated wrong the first time. I think scrapping should not involve any math!

Thanks for posting the instructions. This looks like something that even I could do!

probably a corner rounder thingie. :) I have one in with all my random punches. :) maggie

it took about an hour and that included mommy, mommy, mommy......

You could put a card inside explaining what it was and where to put the pics.
Or include a pic of the 2 of you if you had one.

I used a corner rounder to do the corners.

This is too cute! What a great idea. Bet it would make a nice gift for a preteen girl too.
