Sanibel

Hi we would like to go to Sanibel this year. My husband has a pet allergy so we cannot stay somewhere that allows animals. I wonder if anyone has any recommendations, I am looking at the song of the sea.
We are from the UK and love the idea of finding proper shells on a beach!

It is far! We drove from there to Orlando as a side trip to our main vacation one year. I think it was 3.5-4 hours away.

You could look into Anna Maria Island instead. Its 2 hours from Orlando instead of 3.5-4. Or just try St Pete Beach. There are literally millions of shells on St Pete Beach, and the swimming is superb.

Check out VRBO.com. They have an extensive list of properties on Sanibel and Captiva and specify which allow or disallow pets.

Sanibel is a great place to visit. Wonderful shelling and lots of nature to enjoy.

Thank you for the info yes it does look a long drive I will do some more research. We have been to Cocoa Beach before however I don't recall there being any shells as such.

Sanibel is a wonderful place to relax! One of the top places for shelling.
I stay at Blue Dolphin Cottages. It's self-catering, but does serve a continental breakfast in the garden every morning. They do not allow pets.
