I would like some Sanibel Island dining suggestions and any travel tips or secrets would be great.

I haven't been to Sanibel in years, but I love that area of FL. Make sure to check out the Mucky Duck (on Captiva Island) and I remember one other place we went to was the Bubble room (also on Captiva Island) or something like that?!?! I love the emerald coast of FL...one of these days I will have to get back down there :sunny:

Be sure to check out Jerry's Foods....it's a grocery store with a nice small deli/restaurant attached!

You really should try Cheeburger, Cheeburger while there. It's not gourmet dining, but it's fun for a nice lunch or even dinner. We've stayed at the Sundial Resort which is very nice; the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island is very nice, too.

We've booked some shelling excursions -- some leave before dawn while others leave mid-morning. Most have snorkeling equipment you can use or you can just hunt for shells along the beach. These will take you to smaller islands in the Gulf to find shells.

We did an Everglades day tour on one trip -- it was a day-long tour through the Everglades region that was fun.

Be sure to check out the J.N. "Ding" Darling Conservatory -- they offer guided tours throughout the day that are worth the ticket price. You will see so much more on the tour than you would on your own.

We did the Ding tour last summer and it was lots of fun! Saw manatees playing together and loads of birds!

Bubble room is awesome for the biggest piece of cake I have ever eaten!! Also we ate at I want to say the lazy Flamingo, there are 2 locations bar like place totally awesome one is right across from the sundial(we stayed there and thought it was really nice). Also there is a hot dog joint that is delicious! We rented bikes and rode all over it was so fun.---I can't wait to go back---

We go to Fort Myers and HAVE to go to the Bubble Room every trip!! Try the Carolina Moons, YUM. Say Hi to your "Bubble Scout" (waiter) fun for the family, lots to look at. But go for Lunch, dinner can be pricey. Definitely do Jerry's Market. Say Hi to the parrots for us!! We ride our bikes all over and even thru Ding Darling!! Great time! I WANT TO GO BACK!!!!!!!!!

Our family loved Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. We went there because it was featured on the travel channel's Florida's Best Beaches. Our kids love shells, so thought it would be a perfect place to take them. It was great, and hardly anyone around at the spot we went. It was like having the beach to ourselves. You think that it is a rocky beach, but then when you get on it, realize that it is entirely made up of small shells!

We did not eat in the Bubble room, but was sure to stop and get some take out of some of their desserts. YUM! Definitely go there if you get the chance! :teeth:
