DH is encouraging me to take DS7 to WDW for a Mom/Son trip. The clincher? We'd leave NEXT WEDNESDAY!!!! A spur of the moment quick trip it will be (Wed-Sat), but a trip to WDW none-the-less! The reason for it being so soon? I found cheap airfare from our local airport (It will cost DS and me $168 rt for both our tickets!). We'll fly Allegiant in to SFB.

Since this is a whirlwind of trying to get my stuff together (and since we've only flown in to MCO in the past) I'm looking for help in how to get from SFB to the WDW area. I'm getting a rental car... just looking for the best route and how much to plan for tolls.

If I were you, I would take I-4 instead of the toll roads. It would be cheaper and you won't have to worry about any lines that may form at the toll booths.

I-4 is a viable option, but if you're not used to driving in traffic and since you're coming in on a weekday I think 417, southbound from the Airport, might be a better option for you, we like 417. Tolls are $6.00, if you get off at exit 6 which puts you right onto Disney property the best exit for most of DW, but that's the price you pay for lower traffic.

Thank you for your help and suggestions. I think we'll take the toll road down tomorrow since we're getting in around 2:30pm. When we leave Saturday morning (super, duper early - our flight leaves at 7am) I think we'll just take I-4.

we've seen very little back up traffic at the tolls so I wouldn't let that force a change in the route.

A reminder: Several of the toll plazas require that cash tolls be paid by going down what looks like an exit ramp on the right. Then you merge back in. The main lanes are only for users of Florida electronic toll transponders (Sunpass, Leeway, E-Pass.) or for car renters who chose the electronic toll option (if offered). Out of state transponders (EZ-Pass, I-Zoom, others) are not honored.
