Sanford to POP

We booked flights and accommodation seperately (though both through Thomas Cook) because it was cheaper than their package - go figure. Anyway the one thing that means is that if we don't hire a car we don't have travel booked from the airport to the hotel.

Now my TA said that free buses run but I'm not convinced - I know Magical Express runs from the other Orlando airport but is there anything similar from Sanford? If not does anyone have any ideas the sort of prices that we'd be paying for a taxi?

I'm rethinking our no car hire plan but just wanted to check this first.

Thanks.

Not sure about the free bus, I was never told about that (also booked through ta with a TC holiday).

I booked transfers to take us from the airport to my resort and back again for £33 per person, which I think is a good deal considering it's about a 2 hour round trip.

Disney certainly doesn't put on transportation from Sanford. Transfers are likely to cost in excess of $100 each way pre-tip (unless anyone knows of a firm which offers something better).

Mine cost £99 for all of us, round trip with Thomas Cook. :)

You should be able to add it on if you've booked with them. That's what I did. I did originally have the free car hire, but when I looked into how much insurance was for someone under 25, I changed it to the transfers after I'd booked.

In 2002 and 2005 we had transfers included with our package but I don't think they were free. The price Gemma stated of £33 per person sounds about right and i'm sure there are companies that offer this separately. I just googled and this page came up with looks promising:

Looking through that page I noticed the company American Coach which I recall was the company that did our transfers in both 2002 and 2005 and they do indeed offer this service separately:

When you arrive at Sanford there is a Mears desk - they will sell you a round trip to pop for around $50 per person-this was 2 years ago check on there website for a more up to date price-you can also book this on their site prior to travelling which is what I have always done. You go in a small van or coach (depending on how many people). It can go around a few hotels before Pop (around International drive) but on the way back your one of the last stops. Iv found them to be very reliable and good value for money
